Truly sad. I was shocked when I heard the news. I thought that he might beat the disease but it wasn't meant to be. He was an incredible anchor and you could tell that he was into getting the news out there for the public. My prayers are with the family.

I think I heard today that lung cancer is the #1 killer of American men & women - muufuckas need to take this (& other smoking related deaths) as a wakeup call NOW. He was only 67, could have had many years left to come. Put the cigarrettes DOWN

Peter Jennings and my mother came from the generation when there wasn't a big push to stop until recent years. My mom stopped smoking for almost ten years. She was diagnosed with lung cancer and died 9 months later. Its no joke. I pray for Christopher Reeves wife. She has been diagnosed with lung cancer and she was a non smoker.

Cancer sucks.
