Dig! What a film! Anyone seen this film?
I saw it tonight and was blown away. Absolutely corking - it made me rush back home and slap some Brian Jonestown Massace on. "Art calls for complete mastery of techniques, developed by reflection within the soul."

Rock documentary charting the rise and fall of Dandy Warhols and Brian Jonestown Massacre...
Sounds cliched and very Spinal Tap. But its a must see, I implore you - if you're in the least bit into music - to go see. "Art calls for complete mastery of techniques, developed by reflection within the soul."

i saw it and enjoyed it so much that i had to buy my own copy of the DVD. anton's a mess - he was no better at lollapalooza a couple of weeks ago. | |

I agree with you Anton is a mess, but a gifted, creative force nonetheless. Such is often the way. Despite him being such a paranoid, selfish and near-schizophrenic monster at times, I actually empathised and sympathised with him and could understand his frustrations - or at least see where he was coming from. The Dandy's on the other hand were vacuous, pretty shallow, empty people - they craved the success that Anton rejected - and while I think its hard to exactly support some of his actions - I can firmly say I would side with the Brian Jonestown Massacre over the Dandies anyday of the week. I think I'll probably invest in the DVD when it comes out of here. Oh and lastly - big thumbs up for Joel - best lines, best hair, best glasses, best coats, biggest laughs and best tamborine player ever!
