They're white....I bought a basic color cause I think I'll probably be upgrading my duvet cover soon too....I actually just use the fitted sheet and throw my comforter on top and use that as my top sheet. I have a 300 thread count duvet cover, but I think I'd like to get a nicer one.

I also bought a Memory Foam contour pillow...we'll see how that one works out. I'm kinda particular about my pillows so I'm not certain I'll like this one or not....

Does the fact that I'm a bedding-snob make me gay?

ooh, i hate duvets, i always feel like i'm being suffocated by a giant marshmallow. sheets are important. i usually only sleep with sheets. i lucked out a while back and stumbled across a clearance sale at bloomingdales and got some schmancy high count fitted and cover sheets for ten bucks a piece...nice sheets really make a difference.

the thread count isn't as important as people think--it's the fabric that really counts. 200 TC sheets of 100% combed cotton is FAR FAR better than 800 TC poly/cotton blend. i work for a national bedding/home goods retailer and can honestly tell you there are some 800 TC sheets that feel like sandpaper, and some 240 TC sateen finish cotton sheets that feel like butter!
I always recommend you feel the sheet before you plunk down a lot of money only to be disappointed. me personally, i sleep on 100% fleece sheets...like flannel, but better! keeps you warm in the winter and cool in the summer cool
you look better on your facebook page than you do in person hmph!

i must insist on a top sheet though... hmph!

i saw 1100 tc sheets a few months ago... but i think they were pulling my leg... i mean, come on!!!
1100??? in a square inch?? hmm
they were soft but no softer than the 700 tc sheets beside it

highest i have i think are 380... and they are pretty nice

This is SO true!

I bought 1200 TC sheets a couple of years ago and while they're nice, they're not as soft as my 500 TC. Later learned that the yarn size, one or two ply thread, and all of what you said needs to be factored in!

But, no matter what the count, I love crisp, cold sheets that have hung out on the line in the fall! I miss that. sad

Yup! I just put a plastic matress pad there so I don't stain my bed with all the fluids that come out of me at night.

did you count all the threads? some places will skimp on a few and sell you really 476 ct. thread sheets.

I think you need to be sure.
