you know i expect for all of my friends to forget my birthday but not my family! my b-day was on 7/26 and not one person from my family remembered. of course my hubby did and friends remembered though. i got a text message from my sister days later wishing me a happy b-day, but couldn't even get a call from her. it isn't that i expect everyone to remember my b-day all of the time, but it would be nice if i could go one year without everyone forgetting.

how close to your family are you? I mean it's possible if you don't speak to them on a regular basis.

sorry to hear that... if it were me, I would have given them a phone call that night and let them know how i felt instead of holding it in. I did that one time, my dad's side of the family didn't even call me for me birthday and my dad has been deceased for like 4 years now, and so I gave them the whole day and then that night I called them and told them how disappointed i was. and of course i got the whole "well we were just about to call you" routine, but i have never known anyone to "just about" to call anyone at almost midnight.

I make my birthday a big deal because on that day it is and should be all about me, so keep on making it a big deal because if you don't no one else will....

It's great that your hubby remembered though.
