I sent this pic to my older brother the other day. He's 27 and he said I look older than him. My Thai adult students guessed I was 29 and a young girl at a local restaurant guessed I was 30!



I just turned 24 on Friday.

Personally, I am totally over the entire 'what do others think of me'-thing. Sure, I can get flattered, people asking me "So, what are you majoring in?" but I immediately call them out, calling them flirts, or, if they are women, blind.

I have had people thinking I was 24 to 39 this year. It all depends on how I feel, if I shaved and how well I slept the night before. And even that does not always work that way.

Other people's opinions are just way too fickle for me. At the good age of 34 I am most of the times quite happy in my skin. So who cares what others say about how old I come across? It's about what is in the heart, serious. People who care too much about looks and age do not tend to be very good friends of mine.

I'm not really bothered but, I regularly get mistaken for a student rather than the teacher. I've had people ask me, "where's your teacher?," or, "you cant do that unless you're a tutor, are you a tutor? oh sorry ~red face~." that kind of thing. I'm not sure how old they expect teachers to look, but we dont all wear Tweed and sensible shoes.
