Did u like the ninja turtles movie? Shredder is cool. No denying the soundtrack kicks ass. "t-u-r-t-l-e POWER!" One of the lesss dated family films, despite the bill and ted phrases and "look", which is surprisenly dark. [Edited 7/28/05 15:26pm]

i was depressed by mainstream pop culture in the early '90s. i honestly couldn't tell you what i considered entertaining at the time. i liked the madonna sex book, i remember that. i was happy that deee-lite was still together back then.

Electronic music was in its prime! New genres popping up all over the place and most of them were pretty damn interesting... .

Yep, trance/rave culture sure had its own fashion. The drum ´n bass crowd was more subdued, usually dressed in black and slowly nodding to the rhythms. Either way it was a fantastic variety of genres emerging back then. The first genuinely new styles of music since punk rock and synth.

Just saying that dispite the rap song "turtle power" stating raphael was the leader of the group, I don't think he was? [Edited 7/28/05 16:46pm]

At one point, I had all 3 movies on VHS.
I now have the first one on DVD. Dunno if I'll ever get the second one, but I want the third one.

I'm embarrassed, because this thread was obviously started tongue-in-cheek. But I actually felt rather strongly about these movies. They SUCKED!!
I was a TMNT fan way back in the early 80s, when their original creators, Eastman and Laird, were young unknowns, printing the independent comics in black & white maybe twice a year (three times if they could scrape together the money and time) at their own expense. THIS was art, man! THIS was grass roots innovation! The original comics were great, and I still have many. Good stories, good art and a raw, realistic appeal -- characters used 4-letter words, the martial arts techniques and jargon were well-researched, and the fights often led to bloodshed and death. The Hollywood crap that we saw in the movies was a MASSIVE bastardization of the original works!! And Leonardo, the one with the twin katanas, was the leader; not Raphael, with the sais. ... Despite this post, can I still be considered cool around here? I'll pay a fine, if necessary. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I agree, the comics WERE better (I have the First graphic novels). But as far as kiddie movies go, the TMNT films were pretty good (the first and 3rd, anyway).
And I shall say it now, the April in the first movie was HOT!!!

Plus, when I found out Kevin Richardson (Backstreet Boy fuckhead) was in one of the suits it lost something for me. Oh and by the way...hi Nik. (The arcade game was much much better than the movie by the way.)

When I was growing up I'd go to my Dad's warehouse since he's in the arcade business (yep, still is) and I'd play all the games in his warehouse on free play. I remember playing that game fondly.

No need to hate on the TMNT movies because of that. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"
