How do you NOT see it!!!...Sheep Only! Ahem..."Side effects may include:
Nausea Headache Diarrhea Increased Blood Pressure Drowsiness Gas Dizziness Stomach Pain Coughing Wheezing Itchiness Rash But you will still take the plethora of over the counter and prescription meds when you "know" it is doing something ELSE to your bodies!! Why???? Now if you need a certain med for serious pain or discomfort, do what you must, but there ARE alternatives. Ex-Moderator | I've actually acquired quite an aversion to taking anything. I used to take OTC allergy medicine or cold medicine on occasion, but it always made me feel worse than the cold/allergy symptoms were. I get all spacey and speedy and dehydrated.
I almost never take anything even for a headache either. Maybe the occasional ibuprofen, prolly only 3-4 times a year. I certainly think there are reasons to take medicine when needed, but for me it's always a last resort. |

I take my asthma medicine happily enough, and I thoroughly enjoy life when I'm on my Zyrtec. Insatiable taught me everything I know about balls.

Exactly....I have very severe allergies but have altered my eating habits and begun seeing an Holistic Health Doctor who administers Accupuncture on me weekly as well as gives me Chinese herbs and vitamin supplements. I got over Strep without the need for antibiotics and I will take an Ibu every so often when the aches of basketball are too overwhelming, but that is not too often as I play on a regular basis, which is key to not getting overly sore. I did the entire gammut of allergy meds, and found it was more of what I put in my body than what surrounded it. Dairy took the mucous out of my body which clears you up immensely! I took Claritin D, Zyrtec D...and they both did wonders, but in time I got headaches from the both of them and they both raised my blood pressure. So do what you will, just know the side effects are present for a reason and they do damage. whap! And you allergy sufferers...I suggest this...well for all of you that are polluting your bodies on a "regular" basis! Me included because for as much as I am organic, I too have my weaknesses..alcohol, weed, there is no escaping it all unless you go completely organic and vegan, then it is best to grow your own food, ANYWAY!!!...SHIT!

The only med I regularly take is called Remicade. It's an infusion(via IV) every 60 days. It's for my Crohn's Disease. It really cuts down on the inflamation which causes A LOT of pain. I do smoke the occasional joint/bowl. Maybe like how often as others may Drink...probably less. I have dabbled in other things....but I'm just too old for that shit now...it's hard work and I'm lazy...I'll leave it to the youngin's...if they so desire.
Also...I'm not scared of the occasional pain pill if something is bothering, but I'm careful with those to a degree...have had problems in the past. Me and pain just DON'T get along. And yes....Remicade does have it's side effects...but they are by far outweighed by the good. It causes my immune system to be impaired...so I could get sick easily...but if I just stay away from ill people...it's usually all good. The weakened immune system did cause me to get get shingles once....That sucked BAD...but my tummy was feeling great...the shigles eventually went away and my tummy is still feeling great. So, there are side effects, but they are worth the trade. [Edited 7/28/05 10:33am]

I've had Crohn's for a while and I don't like it. But there are no cures...so it's a continual learning process on how to handle and maintain it. I haven't tried Alternative medicines...but they are costly and difficult to find. With the price...it's makes it difficult to want to experiment with something...that possibly could only make me feel worse.

i don't take meds....I take a nap, fast and try to let the body heal it self.
I remember arguing with my doctor after I had a surgery about pain meds. I made them take the i.v. out and I refused the meds. The only meds we have in my house are for my daughters allergies. We don't even have asprin in the house.
