Chicago to build America's tallest building!

How it stacks up

- 2,000 feet to top of spire, taller than the 1,776-foot Freedom Tower

- 920,000 total square feet, compared with 4.5 million for Sears Tower

- Up to 250 condos, compared with 472 for Trump's Chicago tower

- Condos would likely be valued between $6.5 million and $7.5 million

More info: http://www.chicagotribune...enews2-utl

What do u guys think of the design. The architect is world famous Santiago Calatrava.

and what is it with chucking a thin spire thingie on the top of tall buildings, just to make them even taller? lol

i think they should all be discounted when measuring for tallest building.

There are actually rules to whether you 'count' them or not. Something to do with how they affect the integrity of the structure or something. shrug

A friend of mine from Chicago told me it looked like a giant drill bit. lol I like it though. It will go nicely on the lakefront. Its a tall building but it doesnt overpower the skyline. Apparently Donald Trump has a problem with it...whatever! rolleyes

Dont forget to measure the circumference of the crater and post your results! I would advise using a heavy shoe frog.

And it's never in Britain.

I think we are more likely to build The World's Most Reasonably Proportioned Building Without, You Know, Going Over The Top, Old Chap, And Let's Try And Keep It Quite Traditional, OK(TM)

I agree....they will build it to a certain height, then add that spire for another few feet to break the record....just build the damn building...LOL
