For the next three days I will be in exotic Myrtle Beach, SC. If anyone ever tells you it's a good idea to take two children under 4 a long distance from home slap them in the face. Actually it has been fun with the usual problems people face when they are on trips. The hotel room has been disappointing, not at all what the Internet led me to believe. My older daughter freaks out at everything and has any number of tantrums, about first wanting to go outside and almost immediately wanting to go back in. I am the 3 year-old's entire entertainment committee, as my wife must tend to the 3 month old who is both oblivious and yet, something in her infant mind has to tell her that something is different. We've spent hundreds so far and will spend hundreds more. And, of course, the phone jack didn't work when we got here so I had to contemplate several days with no access to the Org, my stocks, and my work.

But you know what. This is mostly for my three year old and she has been asking to go to the beach all summer and damn it i'm going to enjoy this for her and make this a fun time! My parents, who were flawed on many levels, still always took time and money they did not have to get us down here when I was growing up. I want to be a father who can promise a family trip every summer, even if it just a couple day excursion to the beach. Ultimately I want to be able to do one of thise all-inclusive Disney resort vacations but it might take a couple more payraises to do that.

Going to take my daughter swimming now. Won't be able to do it this time but next time I am going to catch that Prince impersonator at the local tribute show called Legends in Concert.The picture on the brochure shows him with the typhoon do so it doesn't appear they have updated the material.

Thanks for the well-wishes and sorry 9's if I ruined your "e" thing. My threads are always curses in one way or another.

To fill y'all in on the details of the day, I swam several hours with my daughter, which exhausted both of us. We were going to eat at a new restaurant called Cheeseburger in Paradise but the wait was too long so we ended up at a crap buffet called The Farmer's Daughter. I am not a big seafood fan but this place had country cooking too. Except it was nasty and they had like no white meat chicken whatsoever.

When we came back to the hotel, my wife took my daughter walking down the shore while I sat on the beach with my 2 month old, explaining to her that the ocean goes all the way to Europe. She appeared puzzled and may have had many follow-up questions but I dodged them with a rousing "Row Row Row Your Boat".

We went in, watched Big Brother, and watched several people illegally shoot firecrackers below us. We put the kids to bed but my eldest woke up, as she got sick from too much junk food and threw up a compact car. All are asleep now, my wife snoring as usual, and I'm about to collapse from exhaustion. I have a massive headache so I;m feeling ya, roddiekay.

We have one more full day tomorrow. For my SC peeps or anyone who has been to Myrtle, what's a good family activity I can plan for tomorrow?
