Recommend a Film! Just as the thread says: Recommend a good film, old or new, clean or blue..
I really enjoyed House Of Sand and Fog, although its 2 years old, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Betty Blue...As well as providing a narrative that may be read and interpreted on several levels, _Betty Blue_ is an exceptionally beautiful film in terms of cinematography and mise en scene. Colour is used to breathtaking effect - the blue floors of the piano shop, the yellow car, the yellow lighting which makes it seem as though, regardless of time, it's always afternoon twilight. Landscapes, city scenes, interiors are all set up and filmed beautifully..

It was so powerful, the settings, the story, the actors! Really good!

Grave of the Fireflies (Hotaru No Haka) - truly, one of the most powerful and beautiful films I've ever seen. It really changed the way I look at animation, specifically anime. A brother and sister, Seita and Setsuko, in WWII try to find a home amidst the American fire bombing of Japan. It's philosophical without being snobbish or off-putting, and moving without being overtly sentimental.

REDFEATHERS said: Carlito's Way, Jacob's Ladder, Stigmata
i have all those. particularly like Jacob's Ladder. Carlito's Way is good, but not one of Pacino's best, for me. And i enjoyed stigmata very much, except for the ending which i felt was a bit melodramatic & borrowed too obviously from the exorcist. oh, and 'plan 9 from outer space' is the original film by Ed Wood, which the film 'Ed Wood' is based on. Reportedly the worst film ever made. It's so unbelievably bad, it's wonderful.
