Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes OK so how messed up is this movie? Has Anyone seen this? Very creepy movie about a family going to California and decide (stupidly) to go off the main road and thier car ends up breaking an axel rod...thus leaving this family stranded in the desert, while a family of creepy inbred maniacs stalk and kill each family member and kidnap the infant daughter of one of the family members. Little bit of camp, a lotta cheese, very smart dogs, some truly frightening moments and a very imaginative script and plot from Wes Craven make this a highly entertaining film. I enjoyed it a lot better than last house on the left. And it certainly does what most if not all horror movies miss...a sense of realistic dread and attachment to the characters. Great Horror movie that does have quite a few unintentional giggle moments. Christian Zombie Vampires

I just thought it was an inferior clone of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and/or Deliverance.

I saw part of it, and it was slightly scary. The kidnapping part anyway.

The guy on the poster of this movie had a small part in THE DEVIL'S REJECTS. I think it was part homage to horror movies. I think that's why PJ SOLES was also in the cast.

... Come here, pretty mouth. What are you doing on a thread about a slasher movie? You're more of a Jane Austen person, aren't you?

Actually, I don't like slashers or Jane Austen. It wasn't even near either of those movie IMO..except for the back woodsy mentality that both of those other movies displayed (Deliverence had a very small part of that). Other than that...this movie stands on it's own. Christian Zombie Vampires

Well, "love" may not be the proper movie, but I think it's one of the best of its genre, and certainly a highpoint in Wes Craven's career. It's hard to believe that the man who made that also made the yawn-fest Cursed. The DVD features the original ending that was later changed - good thing, because it's a terrible ending! Two people walking hand in hand into the sunset.

I remember that dude on the poster also had a role in Weird Science, and the Motley Crue video for "Smokin' In The Boys Room"! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)
