An Ode to Audrey Hepburn The last couple days, Audrey was on television a few times.
I still enjoy her grace, beauty and kindness. Innocent, ethereal in her rare beauty, Audrey Hepburn stood alone among the actresses of her time. Into the abundance of voluptuous American girls came this gamine with an enchanting Anglo-European accent. With her big eyes, long neck, demure smile, melodious voice and perfect wardrobe, that aura of an angel on earth, she dazzled moviegoers for decades and in her later years also worked hard as a special ambassador for UNICEF. Despite her glamour, charm and elegance, Hepburn is one star who has always been seen to have real heart. Traveling to areas afflicted by famine and devastation, Hepburn worked to raise public awareness of the plight faced by children in times of crisis. Her commitment to alleviate the suffering of children was intense and genuine. She died in Januari 1993 of cancer. She was 63. Are there any actors you want to bring an ode to?? The Borg... Partypoopers of the galaxy.. ( Medical Hologram )

I love older movies. I never got into Audrey Hepburn that much, but everything's always indicated to me she was a lovely lady. If you didn't know, this month is Audrey month on TCM. Every Wednesday night... of course, you're nearly out of Wednesdays.
I'm quite fond of Barbara Stanwyck: She has a classic, beautiful look and style, grace... The Lady Eve and Stella Dallas are superior films. Insatiable taught me everything I know about balls.

Artist: Lyrics
Song: Without You Lyrics Eliza (singing): What a fool I was, what dominated fool, to think that you were the earth and the sky, What a fool I was, What an elevated fool, What a mutton-headed dote was I! No, my reverberated friend, you are not the beginning and the end. Professor Higgins (speaking): You impetant hussy there's not an idea in your head or a word in your mouth that I haven't put there. Eliza (singing): There'll be spring every year without you. England still will be here without you. There'll be fruit on the tree. And a shore by the sea. There'll be crumpets and tea without you. Art and music will thrive without you. Somehow Keats will survive without you. And there still will be rain on that plain down in Spain, even that will remain without you. I can do without you. You, dear friend, who taught so well, You can go to Hartford, Hereford and Hampshire. They can still rule with land without you. Windsor Castle will stand without you. And without much ado we can all muddle through without you. Professor Higgins: You brazen hussy, Eliza (singing): Wihtout pulling it the tide comes in, without your twirling it the Earth can spin, Without your pulling it, the tide comes in Without your twirling it, the earth can spin Without your pushing them, the clouds roll by, If they can do without you, ducky, so can I I shall not feel alone without you I can stand on my own without you So go back in your shell I can do bloody well Without... Professor Higging (singing) interupts: By George, I really did it, I did it, I did it, I said I'd make a woman and indeed I did, I knew that I could do it, I knew it, I knew it, I said I'd make a woman and succeed I did! (speaking) Eliza you are wonderful

Ex-Moderator | I'm a big fan of Audrey Hepburn. I've yet to get through her entire catalog, but I finally purchased some of her movies a few months ago and had my own little Hepburn-fest. Sabrina, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Funny Face (prolly my fave) and Roman Holiday. |

The scene where her character confronts Richard Chamberlin's character is just . I know it's just a made for TV movie or series, and rather late in her career, but that one scene makes me cry time and time again... Barbara was amazing in that role. As far as Glen Close is concerned, I agree that it is a complete travesty that she doesn't have an Oscar and Julia Roberts does????? I believe that Glen has a Tony for Sunset Boulevard. Audrey did alot of and flawed films. She carried them due to her beauty and charm. The Nun's Story was probably the best movie she was ever in.

Since it combines him with Barbara, certainly. Though I've been fond (heh heh) of most of them. When it comes to old films, I thorougly enjoy my Stanwyck, Fonda, Vincent Price, and Cary Grant flicks. And Peter O' Toole. Insatiable taught me everything I know about balls.

Not much a fan of Henry Fond's but I love me some Jane Fonda....she rocked in The Morning After.....
and who can say Hepburn's films are flawed when she has two classics "My Fair Lady" and "Breakfast at Tiffany's" under her built? Those two along should balance out any "flawed" films.. Space for sale...

I can't bring myself to sit through any of those movies. I do however think that Glen deserves an Oscar. She's rivetting in just about anything she stars in. edit [Edited 7/23/05 21:00pm]

sosgemini said: "My Fair Lady" and "Breakfast at Tiffany's" Flawed, especially since these are inferior to originals. A musical pygmalion...what a nightmare. The Leslie Howard version shits on my fair lady from a country mile. Hepburn is the least believable cockney ever. Patrcia Neal was the best in Tiffany's. Audrey's best films are Roman Holiday and The Nuns Story. The Nuns Story is perfect to me. all subjective as usual. [Edited 7/23/05 21:03pm]

He popped in "Roman Holiday" which so happens to be one of his favorite movies. I swear, the man spanks off to thoughts of Audrey Hepburn as it is. We got five minutes in, he took it out, saying I had no business watching the movie. His words were: "It's about LOVE. You have no heart." HA. I was annoyed, but then he made it up by putting in North by Northwest. Which I'd never seen. But I found it highly enjoyable. [Edited 7/24/05 7:40am] Insatiable taught me everything I know about balls.
