Sorry guys but I needed a break from the updates. I was a tad bit upset yesterday and just couldn't deal. Thank you for the orgNotes! I'm touched that so many of you were expecting an update today!

Drew was sedated because he tried to get up and leave the hospital- got out of bed, fought with the staff, tried to remove his tubes. And I'm just finding out the truth 2 days later! I can't! It's over...



On to the positive! Drew has finally shook the effects of the adavan (sp) however it set his progress back and made him more confused. But if he was up and trying to leave- I'm glad they knocked him out. He slept so hard for so long. I saw him this morning at 9:30 and he was still sleeping and was groggy. I found out what time lunch was served and returned at noon. He hasn't eaten in days and I made sure he ate today. I could tell he was coming around at noon- he's still confused, but not as much. And by 2PM he was more like his smartass self! Again he's still confused and mixing past memories with dreams, but he knows where he is and why- that's a first. We have a friend who owns a restaurant and she sent turkey and dressing and 2 slices (one for me!) of yellow cake with choclate icing. We ate the cake, he told me my cakes were better (and they are! Her icing was made out of Crisco! ) They even got him out of the bed and walked him around the room a few times! I was very pleased to see this! So I'm not going to say that he will be moved from ICU tomorrow because everytime I've been told that it hasn't happened, but it will be soon.

Hopefully he keeps improving.

Yes! I was disappointed that each day we were told that he was moving out of ICU and then it didn't happen, but we were initially told 5 days ICU. As for the weekend, I'll be spending it with #1... Drew!

I've been burning a "Guardian Angel" candle for Drew:

Today Drew received two dozen roses (his favorite) from his friends on his doll discussion group. Unfortunately you can't have anything but cards in ICU so I took the roses home, cut the ends of each stem, soaked them in a lukewarm bath, and arranged them in a vase. Hopefully I can take them to the hospital soon!

Knowing the improvements are being seen is beautiful...

I just can't bring myself to use one of my vintage Barbie dolls for Drew's doll cake. So I got this beauty to use instead... and I'm soooo keeping her outfit!

A friend of mine at the hospital just checked in on him and she said that he was sleeping curled on his side. He's been flat on his back and strapped down the last few days. It's nice to know that he can get comfortable.
