Ang Lee's new movie is set to open in December. Based on the short story by Annie Proulx (from her collection of stories about Wyoming), the film is a love story about two ranch hands (Jake Gyllenhaal and Health Ledger) who meet and fall in love in the 1960s. The short story is a moving piece of fiction that takes place over the span of a couple of decades, and I hope the filmmakers don't soften up the story much. Apparently, Larry McMurtry wrote the screenplay years ago and it had just been sitting around before Ang Lee agreed to direct the film. It seems Hollywood has little faith in esteemed writers.

I have big hopes for this film. Michelle Williams, Anne Hathaway, Randy Quaid and Anna Faris also star. They really should have renamed the film; it's just begging to be called Bareback Mountain.

OMG I'm dying to see this movie they both come out naked and there is a love scene...Jake Gyllenhaal .....yummy I'll marry that man someday

Don't get your hopes (or anything else) up. There will be no frontal nudity in the film, and Jake Gyllenhall used a body double.

I hope they do the book justice. There are some sex scenes in the book that I know will not be filmed. I do have a still shot of Heath Ledger jumping into a lake naked but they used a body double for Jake. I don't know if that scene is going to remain because it's a full frontal of Heath and the body double.

I've been waiting forever for this flick to come out. I just hope that someone decides to make THE DREYFUS AFFAIR. I think if this makes some money they will Green Light it. I think Ben Affleck has the rights to the book as well as another baseball story TAKE ME OUT. I'm praying!!!!

but seriously, why would someone use a body double. Sure he doesn't have to be int he scene, but doesn't it show more guts and acting creds to do a hard scene?
