Thanks but i don't want to sit down and look at purple rain a hundred times like they usually do at the first avenue parties. I rather sit thru fantastic 4 again than do that.

Question..
How can any of us answer that honestly? I suppose we could...but to what point? I think you are a nice guy and all and pretty harmless, but sometimes I wonder if the org is your therapy session. Maybe if you lightened up a tad and not bring your strange relationship woes and tales of winning lots of money only to lose it all, and get to know some of the folks here...and just hang. Personally, I'd invite you to a party, sure why not. But would I hang with you or be your friend outside of that? Basd on your posts and replies...probably not, but I'd give you the benefit of the doubt, because while I have sort of an idea of who you are, I really have no clue as to how you really are outside of here. I hope you don't take offense to this as none is meant.

Sure if they have real food and not playing purple rain music and the movie over and over like a broken record.
Answer to anxiety question. [Edited 7/22/05 14:37pm] [Edited 7/22/05 14:37pm]

Honestly i have been to a few parties and its ok. The ones i went to i was forced to go due to my significant other and they had food and stuff. First avenue parties here are ok only went once and paisley park the real studio parties were good too. Prince look like a junkie off the streets when i saw him close up there. Computer Blue is a great song to play out...and to dance to, but that's my opinion. What I don't get is even though Sam's been throwing that party every month for the past decade it seems...that he plays the same stuff over and over again. Until something new comes out. The worst years were the Gold years where all he would play is the super obscure P stuff that was coming out at the time...gold nigga, 1800newfunk, It was awful. It was almost as if P was telling him what to play. When I play out...I usually change it up...though no matter how many times I play it, folks still want to hear the Hits... Kiss Glamorous Life Now Little Red Corvette Let's Go Crazy Raspberry Berret But like I said I do change it up and get compliments for it. I mean we have ALL heard the songs...you can play outside of the "Hits". I played "Shy" once and Miguel thought it was a nice touch.

I'm curious to know why you think this is so. I think it's an awful song to spin for a dancefloor, because the rhythm is so herky-jerky and the instrumental break lends more to standing still and playing air guitar than it does to actually dancing...if you're going to choose rock-tinged Prince songs for a dance party, I can think of several more songs that never get played that would be better candidates than Computer Blue (Bambi, anyone? At least people can do the bodie green to it). And don't get me wrong - Computer Blue is my favorite song from Purple Rain, if not one of my all-time favorite Prince songs. I just don't think it has any place on a dancefloor. Maybe I'm in a minority. No disrespect to your DJ ear and whatnot, I just really really disagree about this song.
