I intentionally leave my debit card at home because I can't be trusted with it.
So yes, Dook...I pay my groceries by check.
And if you are behind me in line, and if I get the slightest inkling that you are annoyed, I will personally request a price check on an item for which I know I have been properly charged. Don't make me do it.

I'm not that slow when I write checks. I'm kinda impatient myself when it comes to the grocery store lines, so I wouldn't do that to other people. I hate when people actually try to balance their checkbook or take a long time putting tehir stuff away. I know I carry a purse and all and women generally have more stuff than men, but really fumbling around is kinda uncalled for when there's a lot of people waiting.

Personally, I like those self check out lines. It's so quick and you don't have to be bothered with anybody.

Debit cards often charge you a fee, so I've heard. Don't do it! If you have one, use it as a charge!

Debit Cards may be easier however it does more damage on your checking account with fees. So it's more econicmal to either Charge your grocery bill or write a check. At the grocery stores where I live, if you have bonus card, you don't have to wait to get check approved,you get store discounts which is cool, and the registar prints out your check.

My bank does not charge any kind of fee when I use my debit card cuz of the kind of account I have. If you have to pay fees you might want to see what options your bank has in that department. It could save you $$$, not just in fees but from having to re-order checks as well.

Without question this is one of the single most anoying things known to mankind. Why do banks issue cheques to people anymore. Force these old biddies to start using a debit card (no charges as it must be cheeper for the banks than sorting through 100's of bits of peper). I say NO to cheques, I can't abide supermarket checkouts.
