lol

the "no frills" bit was because i used canned tuna instead of tuna steak (which is what i would usually use).

I thought frills were things added that enhancement to whatever it is that needed enhancing.

I made a yummy tuna salad sandwich the other day.
I add yellow curry, carrots and red onions to the usual tuna/mayo combo. So yummy. smile

maybe it is. i always thought "no frills" meant nothing fancy; just plain and simple.

It does...but when you add egg, onions, potatoes, arugula, greens, and vinaigarette. No frills turns to Some thrills!

I love "no frills" tuna salad.....on saltine crackers drool Every now and then I'll put those diced pickles in it, but for the most part it's just basically tuna and mayo, oh and salt and pepper. I hate onions, peppers, and all of that other stuff ill I've never made tuna salad with tuna steaks, I always use canned. It's just more convenient though I guess. Not tuna, but right now I have a taste for salmon patties. It's funny how people eat salmon patties for breakfast. I've always thought of it as a "dinner" food, you know.

Tuna salad is one of my favorites. I like it with mayo, but I usually don't add a whole lot to it. As much as I like the taste of mayo, I simply cannot eat fatty dishes the way I used to so I try to go easy. Tuna steak is delicious, but ain't no way in hell I can afford that for a salad. I usually use albacore for that.

2 cans albacore tuna (whatever the regular size is, can't recall)
1/3 stick celery, diced
1/3 cup chopped, fresh basil leaves
1/3 cup chopped, toasted walnuts
1/3 cup red onion, diced
1 - 2 tspn red wine vinegar
mayo to taste
salt, pepper

It's delicious on crackers or a sandwich!

Your recipe sounds yummy, Sass. I'm gonna have to try it!

you know it's kinda weird to me that I love tuna salad, but I'm not too crazy about tuna by itself. I'm the complete opposite with chicken salad. I'm not too crazy about chicken salad, but I love chicken by itself. wacky can't explain it.

Yeah, some days it's just nice to eat something light and crisp. You feel so much better afterwards compared to feeling weighed down and tired when you eat a cheeseburger combo.

I usually add plain yogurt instead of mayo. I am not a mayo fan at all.

this reminds me that i need to make a batch of my extra special egg salad sandwiches before the summer is over!

anxy's egg salad: NO pickles or crunchies and not at all stingy with the extra-spicy paprika, on pumpernickel bread spread with a very light amount of mango chutney and a slice of lettuce.

KILLER. drool

I do a low carb tuna sandwhich. I'll put my tuna salad on ribs of romaine lettuce. Sometimes I sprinkle poppy seeds on the salad. biggrin
