Dreams...What are they to you?

Thought this would be interesting.

Mostly dreams are images from your day right?
Sometimes I believe that dreams tell you more...I've found that many dreams can give you a warning or perhaps help you realize something you haven't before.
For example I recently had a dream of a dark city street with a burning building. I thought it was odd I took some time to reflect and I started putting the puzzle pieces together. I think its pretty cool what you dreams can say about you. I think they are more of stories telling you about who you are, what you do what you need to do...more about revealing you to yourself...I dont know thought would share... giggle
I'll posting this cool dream site in a moment

Dreams are weird. I literally had a dream about my best friend's brother getting in a car accident and the next day he was involved in a rollover! Everyone was okay, but it's not like I think about this guy very often at all - very strange. nod

For me, they're more about preparation for things to come... getting me ready:

Somehow I end up on this precipice overlooking a HUGE
valley, and the precipice is hanging over it, so it's
like I'm on the edge of a cliff. If I were to fall
off, it'd be certain death. I'm not too afraid -- I'm
just being careful. I look across the way to a large
hill -- it's maybe a couple miles away, on the other
side of the expanse. And on that hill is a humongous
church, HUGE HUGE HUGE!!! -- it's all white, and right
away I think it looks like Mount Olympus out of Greek
mythology. It is the most impressive thing you'd ever
seen! It has these huge Greek-looking columns, and
fancy 100-foot tall sculptures, and the church is very
long, the building flows over the hilltop with
different level rooms. The architecture is very
fancy, everything flows and molds into everything
else, and everything is white. The look kinda reminds
me of ocean waves and bird feathers -- everything is
very soft and smooth. And in front of this building,
among some of the towering sculptures of columns and
ovals and such, there are these huge sculptures of
men, probably from their chest up -- clean-shaven,
wearing suits and ties, looking very handsome, and
looking away from the top of the hillside, down to
where the people have to walk up from. I think there
were big statues of women also. The people were so
big that they only showed them from the chest up --
and they were probably 30, 40, maybe even more than 50
feet tall from the chest to top of the head. And the
columns and other sculptures around them were probably
twice as high. All of these things were near the
church building, but a little bit down the hillside
this way from where I was looking, so it didn't look
like it was all over-powering the church. I just
thought of how Phoenix First kinda looks like the
same, with the hillside, I mean. Nothing else. And
on top of the hillside (in my dream) the church stood,
overlooking everything. A high point, like the occult
likes to use. Probably the tallest hill within the
Reno city limits. When I looked at these huge
sculptures of people, my first thought was that these
were the images of the types of people the church
welcomed. No one else.

While on top of the precipice I wondered how we never
heard of this church, and how come no one talked about
it. But it was on a hill in Reno that not many people
can see because of the way it's locked within this
huge valley -- kind of how the Sommerset homes are all
hidden away in their own valley. At the very edge of
the precipice was a big literature rack full of books
and handouts from the church, telling about itself.
Perhaps the precipice was some kind of lookout spot
where people often gawked at the huge church across
the way, and that's why they placed the literature
here. Strange thing, the literature was at the very
edge of the cliff facing over the edge, so I couldn't
read the titles of the books and handouts. I had to
crawl on my belly, to be careful and not slip off the
cliff, and I reached out for some of the pamphlets. I
looked at the covers, but I can't remember what was
written. Tracy was behind me and she was concerned
that I might slip off the edge of the cliff, but I
told her that I had to get as much info as I could on
this church. So I grabbed for more literature. I
snagged a couple books, and I looked at them. They
looked very academic -- full of dialectics and
psychology -- something about the history and
philosophy of the church. After seeing those, I was
very determined to get as much literature as I could,
so as I was slipping along the cliff, I grabbed
franctically at some more of the literature. A whole
bunch fell over the cliff, probably landing on a road
about a half-mile or so below. But I didn't care, and
I kept grabbing for more, making a pile beside me. I
think Tracy finally convinced me that we better leave
before I fell off the edge and before someone came and
saw the mess I had made.

The next thing I remember is that I'm with my mom and
we're walking up to this same church -- it looks
exactly the same as it did when I was looking across
at it from the cliff. Funny thing, I never once saw
a parking lot. The church is too huge to have a
parking lot anywhere near it, people must do a lot of
walking to get to the church (up a hillside), and then
a lot of walking once they get inside. But with a
church this magnificent looking, I bet people don't
mind the walking, as long as they're a part of
something this awesome-looking.

While walking alongside the church, one long side of
the church is full of French doors (with windows) and
more windows. I can't remember, but I think I peeked
inside one of the windows, or opened a door and looked
in, or maybe I saw the next thing as a vision... it's
like it was to me like a television commercial. I see
A LOT of people in the church, this must be their main
sanctuary area. It looks like it has garden seating.
There are no pews. There are nice fancy puffy chairs
that have a Victorian-style to them, but the chairs
are much larger and more comfortable. Everyone's
sitting in them. And everything is white inside,
except for the fabric on the chairs and the clothes
the people wear. I see flowing staircases and
balconies, and white columns along this side of the
room. There's somebody up on a higher level at the
far end of the room, and he's passing out awards of
some kind. There's a line of people to see him, and
as each person gets their award, the whole
congregation claps for them, and the people smile,
walk down the stairs from that level, and quickly go
their chair -- which is a LONG ways away, because this
is a huge church. I kinda feel sorry for all the
walking people have to do. I noticed that there's A
LOT of FAT people. And I'm surprised that fat people
would even be welcome here. I don't remember one of
the front statues resembling a fat person. How can
fat obese people feel welcome in a church that has
already planned for a certain type of member? But all
the fat people I see are dressed very fancy. Some of
them are so big, they even have special fancy clothes
made for them. The women are dressed very nice, and
so are the men. I think all the men have ties. I
look around the congregation, and EVERYONE is dressed
as fancy as fancy can get. I notice the chairs again,
and I see extra wide chairs made specifically for the
fat people -- they look like big love seats. And then
I see one of the fat people sit down in one, his whole
body takes up the seat, and he looks quite happy. I
notice that many of the other people in the
congregation are fat as well, though not as obese as
some of the people who need love seats. But there are
not very many fit-looking people, except for some of
the ladies who look very thin and glamorous. Anyway,
I watch as many people are given awards, it's
announced over some loudspeakers (something about the
work these people have done for the church and how
great the church is), the congregation applauds, and
the people hurry back to their seats -- some of them
almost run because the distance to their seats is
quite far -- plus, they're having to walk downhill
because of the slope of the church along the hillside.

My mother and I are back outside that wall of the
sanctuary, and we walk further up the hill to another
door, another room. There's a Bible study going on,
and we grab a seat and listen. I kind of remember
there being white books on the chairs, like hymnals,
but I think these were supposed to be the Bibles we
were supposed to use for the Bible study. I got so
distracted looking through these books and seeing what
was wrong, that I really wasn't paying attention to
what the speaker was saying. And then when I finally
decided to listen to the speaker, I got angry. I
don't know what he was saying, but he was saying
things that weren't true. I looked around, and the
people didn't seem to care. I was steaming inside,
and I wanted to stand up and say something. But I
could tell that the people would have no clue what I
was talking about. So I decided to sit still and take
note of the garbage this church was teaching. And
then a couple ladies sat down right behind me, a
little off to the side. They were talking to each
other, and talking, and talking. It was really
annoying me and my mother because we couldn't hear the
teacher, so my mother and I decided to get up,
everyone looked at us, and we took a seat a little
closer to the teacher. But then there was this
background music that was always playing in the
church, probably to create some kind of atmosphere or
mood. But every once in awhile in the background
music, there would be a part that was a bit louder
than the rest of the music, and during the few seconds
that part played, we couldn't hear anything the
teacher was saying. My mother and I kept looking back
at one of the stereo speakers as if to say how
annoying that was. And then the teacher's microphone
(which was clipped on his shirt below his mouth)
started to make a buzzing noise, which made it almost
impossible to hear what he was saying. I wondered why
he didn't take the microphone off and start talking
louder. My mother and I decided to give up on the guy
and walk out the room. I could see that it irritated
him that we were leaving, especially since we never
were able to get comfortable in the first place. As I
left, I thought it strange how much the guy resembled
Pastor George -- though he didn't look exactly like
him, but he had that some type of physique and manner
in which he spoke. And the people he was talking to
were as many as would be at Powerhouse on Sunday
mornings.

When my mother and I left the room, we left a
different way than how we came in, so now we were lost
within the church, going from big room to big room.
In some of the rooms there were people standing
around. I remember entering one room where there was
a lady dressed in white watching over some toddlers.
The room was white, the floor was white. It was a big
square room, and I don't remember seeing anything
about it that would make me think it was for kids. It
looked very boring, almost like a hospital. But I
figured they had to use what they were given --
whoever made the church wasn't think about being
practical as much as they were thinking about BIG.
The lady looked confused that we were walking through
the room, but I didn't want to say one word to her. I
didn't want to say one word to anyone in that church.
Those type of people made me feel very uncomfortable.
I just wanted to get out of there and never come back.
We went from room to room and started to head
outside. When we got outside, I still didn't know
where we were at. There were flowing balconies
alongside the outside of the church. I think we were
on the opposite side of the building where the church
butts up against the hillside, so we started walking
downhill. But then my mother said that she need a
bathroom -- I told her to wait and that we shouldn't
go back inside -- there are weird people in there.
She couldn't wait, so she walked back inside. I
argued with her that I was NOT going back inside the
church, so she went in without me. I thought I could
keep walking down the hillside while looking through
the windows to see where she went. But I lost sight
of her, which concerned me, so I went back to the door
where she went in, and then...

I woke up.

churches
greek
mother
crowds
precipice
hillside

things such as that and go to that website look up those words and they should link some what together

I have a lot of dreams of tsunamis...tidle waves....a lot of water I'm deeply afraid of these things...and the weird thing is when I have crazy dreams like this I wake up knowing how bad they are because my ears get really red and hot its so weird.

Dreams are always bad IMO. Either I have fucking nightmares or even when it's a "good" dream I'm still dreaming of something I wish I had and waking up is usually frustrating 'cause I wish it was not just a dream.

what i hate is that i have significant dreams and i want to know what they mean but i always forget them mad , the only dream i remember that i had awhile back when i was younger was that i had a fight with the devil and i kicked his ass. when i was done my arms were scratched up to the point that my skin was falling and hanging like threads and i could see my bones. it was very frightening and ironic 'cause i was a shy and timid kid but i remember that i was full of determination in the dream. i'm not quite sure what it means but i know it means something just not sure.

Fighting

To dream that you participate in a fight, indicates inner turmoil. Some aspect of yourself is in conflict with another aspect of yourself. Perhaps an unresolved or unacknowledged part is fighting for its right to be heard. It may also parallel a fight or struggle that you are going through in your waking life.

To dream that you are fighting to the death, indicates that you are unwilling to acknowledge a waking conflict or your own inner turmoil. You are unwilling and refusing to change your old attitudes and habits

Devil

To see the devil in your dream, signifies negative aspects of yourself. It may also indicate feelings of guilt that you have been harboring. It is time to release these feelings. Alternatively, the devil may represent intelligence, cunningness, deception, and cleverness.

To dream that you fought off the devil, symbolizes that you will succeed in defeating your enemies.

They don't mean anything to me but I do find it fascinating how imaginative they can be. It's funny what you come up with when you're dreaming biggrin

I once heard about 'lucid' dreams, which means you can be aware of the fact that you're dreaming. Once you know this you can influence your dream. I want to know how to do this cause nightmerries can really freak me out.

I think I'm too down-to-earth to go look for a meaning. It's just a game of our brain I think.

My dreamlife is very important to me. It seems that many people seem to dream less as the age but my dreamlife is still very active. I remember most of my dreams and have learned how to control them.

Very often I perform miracles, use my spirit and do things that normally aren't done in waking life. A lot of times I fight really evil dark characters. These are times when I call on my spirit and the spirit of God.

Here are a few dreams.

My dreams sometimes run in series. Like once I was traveling through a place that I did not recognize but somehow knew. I had to cut through a field of tall grass and it bugged me that it was so tall. Well after travelling through that place a couple nights in a row and getting farther and farther each time, I dreamed about going through the field again. Only this time I had a lawnmower and I cut a path through as I walked. A few nights later I was going through that same field and the path I cut in it was still there.

I also have dreams about finding things I lost so that I don't worry about them being stolen. I have found money that I misplaced like that too.

I had a vivid dream about fighting the devil also:
I was in a house that represented alot of pain for me. I had not been there in almost ten years. In the beggining, there were others there. People whose faces I knew and aknowledged what their presence meant. There was sun coming through the windows and the sky was clear. Then all the people disappeared. The sky began to get dark and the clouds began to bubble and roll like boiling water. I ran to the window to look and saw a hand outside the window come up and pull a shade down from the outside. I ran to the next window and was met with the hand pulling anoother shade down and another until all of them were blocked. The funny thing is I heard him chanting a song. I even knew what it was. I could tell from the arm that he was wearing a yellow and green striped suit.

The storm became more violent and rocked the house with thunder and the lightning blinded me. The whole time he was taunting and chanting. I got scared and cried out to the people who were there and no one came. I cursed and screamed. The thunder was deafening... I woke up knowing that we would meet again.

This happened for 2 more nights. I cursed, screamed, cried, destroyed things. All of it was futile. I talked to no one about it so I prayed. A verse came to my mind and it comfoted me. Over the past few nights I had become afraid to go to sleep. This verse helped me. I went a few days without the dream. One night I knew that it was coming so I repeated Psalm 23 as I went to sleep

Psalm 23
1The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Sure enough, he was back. I had the strength to face him this time. Everything about it was the same as before. The house, people, the storm... Except I had changed. I did not waiver. I did not get scared. I told him that he could not scare me. I shouted Psalm 23 at the top of my lungs. The storm broke. The shades lifted. The sun came back... I woke up.
Shake....shake, shake, shake.

I woke up.

Do you mean that as an explaination as to why I seem to keep recycling dreams?
Like finally getting the lawnmower so that the dream doesn't focus on the field.

I think dreams are just your brain's way of cleaning itself up a bit.

Nothing more, nothing less.

I had a dream that I had a penis. There were these two girls trying to get me to have sex with them and it seemed as though I was gonna do it. I guess that may have been where the 'lucid' stage hit cos I got outta there. I have freaked a couple of guys out with that dream... Turned some on too. giggle
