Faces of Death just disgusted me. I'll never get that monkey in the restaurant scene out of my head. Did he order a banana split?

I've never seen a scary movie that would scare me sleepless! Name some! THE EXORCIST!! AND JAWS I can't even count the nights I stayed awake over those two! The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them. -- Mark Twain.

For me it was Pet Cemetary. Some of the images from that movie still come to me when I'm walking in the dark to the bathroom, or whatever. The sister "Zelda" with the spinal meningitis who was kept in the back bedroom? HOLY CRAP

I haven't seen Shining in the last couple years but back then Nicholson's evil grin was way too much for me. Couldn't watch him in Batman either, since clowns are evil children-eater and I was cute and just their age.

Actually I always found psycological thrillers alot scarier than blood, guts and gore. Silence of the Lambs and this movie called Raising Cain made me cry in my bed I was so scared because I couldn't get those images out of my head.

I saw this for the first time about a month ago. Barbara Hershey being repeatedly "raped" by a ghost. Campy at best and not really scary. They're remaking this.

Xagain said: I have to say, it's stupid as hell now, but "The Blair Witch Project" scared the shit out of me. I couldn't get that final image of the guy standing in the corner out of my head for days. I think alot had to do with the faux documentary that aired on tv the night before I saw it, and so I went into the movie pretending it was real footage. Watching it now though, it's dumb as balls. I felt the same way about the Blair Witch. It was the only scary movie I saw as a young adult that had me sitting on the edge of my seat. Other than that... as a kid the movies "The Amityville Horror" scared me. My father had 2 take me out of the theater when we went 2 see "Terror Train", and "Carrie" the ending when her hand popped up out of the grave made me jump right out of my seat in2 my mothers lap. I never saw the "Exorcist" when it came out but I saw the footage when people were passing out at the theaters and such. After seeing now I didn't see how it could be THAT scary.

The Exorcist. I can't even think of another movie that's scary.

I saw it was I was like 5 years old and I was scared shitless. Funny movie. That particular story was written by Richard Matheson, and was also adapted years earlier into an episode of The Twilight Zone.

That shit was bugged out!!! IT was the music when the thing raped her that bugged me out. It was also my first apartment and I had to sleep by myself after I watched it on my first little VCR. It's hard to understand for many people growing up today how influencial Halloween was on the horror genre for the next several decades. I watch it every October, and there are still scenes that creep me out (Laurie finding Annie's body with Meyer's sister's headstone above her head is still one of the all time eeriest moments in movie history). Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

This one's coming out in just a few months: Not that a remake of The Fog would be a terrible thing, but there have been rumors of remakes of both films for years now, and this one actually happened. Horror films as a whole dont really scare me.
Certain scenes from films have given me the creeps. 1.American Werewolf in London. 2.American Werewolf in Paris. 3.Nosferatu 4.Psycho 5,Exorcist 6.The Thing. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

The Web site is up and running. Thing is, I wouldn't mind a Fog remake so much. The original is great, but it could benefit from an updating, since the original is fairly dated. Unfortunately, Hollwood will probably just take out everything that made the original so good, and make it another Ring clone. When I was 10 I went with a buddy to see "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and snuck into "Werewolf" instead because it was rated R. We were the only 2 in the theater and we were curled up in our chairs afraid for our lives. Especially that scene in the woods that's all peaceful with him in his hospital bed, and then...remember? Damn!

Great movie, really kinda freaky! aliens...that's a good one. oh and I can't believe someone mentioned the entity and it's being re-made...the movie was ok but READ that book...very scarey and I think that's based on a true story too. one that really scared me as a kid was CUJO! "not a fan" yeah...ok

To me, a 'scary' movie is one that does just that - scares.
Movies that are tense, gory, thrilling or shocking seldom scare and once you're out of the cinema/turned the DVD off the movie leaves you. A genuinely scary movie should, in my opinion, haunt you long after the credits have rolled and it should stay with you when you put the lights out to go to bed. Personally, my all-time scariest 'movie' wasn't a movie at all, but the BBC's Ghostwatch programme back in 1992. Shown as a 'mockumentary', it was easy to see through very early on during the broadcast but it didn't matter. It was perfect. Subtle images of the 'ghost' that are only apparent after multiple viewings, mysterious noises and the technology playing up all added to it's feeling of unease. And anything that makes you hide under the bedclothes at the age of 22 must have something going for it. Oh, and the Spanish short 'La Cabina' is also one of my most terrifying movie memories. I wish they'd show it on TV again. http://www.wayney.pwp.blu...cabina.htm
