"Drew is in ICU and we are waiting to see him. Any minute now."

This is from Stu's more recent note.

Hey! Just a quick update on Drew. He is resting in ICU. The surgery went as planned and he is doing well. Drew's sight has all ready improved and his doctor said that he will probably only spend tonight in ICU and be moved to a regular room tomorrow. They weren't able to remove the entire tumor but about 90% and relieved the pressure off his optic nerves. They will monitor the portion that was left- he'll need a MRI every 6 months for about 2 years. Once they identify what type of tumor it is, they will know how to treat it. Tests will be back in 4 days, they don't think that it is malignant. Drew and I really appreciated and were touched by the warm wishes, kind words, and prayers. Thank you so very much! I"ll keep you all posted as I find out more.

Thanks again, Stuart

I'm just getting back from seeing Drew. He's doing as expected. He's heavily drugged so he's in and out. I was told that they think he will be moved out of ICU today, if not tomorrow. His doctor did a cat-scan and at the time of my visit the results were not in. Drew's nurse said that it had been a while and that "no news is good news." Drew will finally get to eat today and tomorrow they will get him out of the bed and start him walking. I was hoping to see a little more improvement- as far as being able to talk with him, but I guess it's still too soon and he was drugged up. I'm going back midafternoon and this evening so I'll keep you updated today.

Its only very soon after the surgery and he's probably on a lot of medication so try not to worry to much (easier said than done I know). A little bit of rest will do his brain and the rest of his body some good - he'll come around soon and give you a big smile I'm sure. It's more difficult for you because you're awake and living through it whereas Drew is having a lil snooze. All will turn out well. Keep strong. We're all thinking about you

I know I'm trying not to worry and I'm telling myself and others these things. It was hard seeing him this morning confused. His mother wanted to make a big deal out of it- I told her it was the drugs and reminded her that the staff said that all was fine. I'm trying to avoid her right now. I know that she's worried and concerned, but her attitude is not healthy for me right now.
