That's the hypostatic union. He proceeds from God. "Begotten not made." (In other words, not created like Adam etc.) That's as far as my understanding goes. I know there was a lot of wrangling over this in the early years of the Church. Jesus has those two natures, but He is also the Holy Spirit - or rather, the Holy Spirit emanates from Him. God is the Father, is the Son and is the Holy Spirit. A three-leafed clover, but a single flower. that's my understanding, anyhow. that's what i believe i was taught during my own confirmation. though it was a good while ago.  | |
