To Kill a Mockingbird Shindlers List MIllion Dollar Baby I understand the others, but Citizen Cane? WTF? I assume that AB's taking the piss a little...but... i don't think Citizen Kane is particularly great to watch now. Unbelievably important film, at the time, changed the face of cinema, blah blah...but it's of its time. It has to be watched in context. As a stand alone film, now, it's pretty Meh. Same goes for The Third Man and other seminal films. Of their time, imo. But you take a film like 'Vertigo' - which had pretty impressive special effects for the time (now, obviously laughable), but it's still a phenomenal film, with stunning acting, great plot, fabulous direction. I could watch it again and again - couldn't say the same about Citizen Kane.

Usually the movies I end up really disliking the most are the ones that are okay on their own, but are ruined by the over saturation of uncreative shitheads quoting them ad nauseum.
Austin Powers and Napoleon Dynamite are probably the two cheif examples of this bullshit. ~ I'D BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR ~

Austin Powers and Napoleon Dynamite are probably the two cheif examples of this bullshit. that can be awful. but i don't think enough people have actually seen Napoleon Dynamite in the UK for that to be a problem here. The worst example of what you speak of in the UK, is fucking 'Withnail and I', and has been for nearly 20 years. quoted endlessly by annoying students for decades!!

Right, I'm gonna get scorned for this, but "Apocalypse Now" was an overrated stack of kack biscuits Yes the film had merits and some highly stylish moments... but as an overall package it was a crap movie experience "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."

I wish I could be whisked away to a land where movie quotes were outlawed and people were forced to come up with their own humor. Oh, I also hate Kevin Smith movies (although I guess Clerks was kind of okay). And that's independant of the fact people quote them all the time. ~ I'D BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR ~

Wholeheartedly agree with you .....but for some reason I still couldn't take my eyes of the screen* *The "Ash Rai" factor (and Nitin Ganatra was a plus point! ) "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."

Batman & Robin
Independence Day Pearl Harbour Starsky & Hutch Also, so not looking forward to the movie adaptation of Aeon Flux. It just looks like it'll be horrible. They cast Charlize Theron as Aeon. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

I hardly ever watch films..Just the thought of sitting down in front of something that is going to last for over an hour fills me with dread.
So, for my money, the extended, multiple-disc versions of the LOTR trilogy really are the stuff of nightmares. I gladly offered to babysit my wife's young cousin whilst my wife and her family went off to see the last one at the cinema. A pooey nappy and endless hours of inexplicable screamin or LOTR...? I maintain I got the better end of the deal. Sorry Natisse!
