I don't see a whole lot of dance - not as much as I'd like to or should see. But I have seen you perform! biggrin A good friend of mine is a dance critic, and she insists that the Twin Cities, barring New York, has the best, most supportive dance community in the USA (she'd place San Francisco maybe as a tie). I asked about Chicago, but she doesn't feel that they have much outside of The Joffrey. Would you agree?

redface That's RIGHT you did see me. lol Of course, I had on a mask the entire time, so you probably didn't even know which one I was. lol You'll have to come see Giselle when we do that one (that is, if I'm all better by then).

Yeah, Chicago doesn't have much in the way of ballet companies, apart from the Joffrey which only relocated to Chicago from NY in the past 10 years. They do have Hubbard Street Dance though, which is a pretty well known modern company though. They also are known for their jazz companies as well. But this was a long time ago. I haven't kept up on Chicago's dance scene lately because I'm just not doing auditions there anymore.

Actually, I did recognize you! lol I was looking at your picture in the booklet, and I kept saying to my friend Caroline, "I recognize that person. Not only that person, but I think I've seen that very picture recently." I almost blurted it out during the performance, but I quietly turned to her and said, "Oh, she's from prince.org!"
lol
That was an interesting evening. I sat with all the dance critics in the Twin Cities - all three of them.

lol Nope. None of the played out disco hits thank God. Lots of cool, more obscure tracks. None of which I can even think of at the moment though. lol

I love the ballet! If only I had the body for it, I would've had more confidence and probably auditioned for some local companies. I took it all through high school and college. I prefer watching modern ballet mainly because of "modern." I'm a modern dancer. My emphasis in college. biggrin

Have you heard of a disco song called SUPERMAN or ROMEO AND JULIET. These songs were great but never really played on the radio.

lol Well, thinking back, for this show the music has changed over the years, and some songs have been replaced by others.....but there are a few that always stay the same. I know we use "Supernature" by Cerrone, "Walk the Night" by the Skatt Bros., lots of Grace Jones, "Pillow Talk" by Sylvia, "Ring My Bell" by Anita Ward (although I know this one's played out now too)

and some other non-disco tracks for more serious parts of the show, like Janis Joplin's "Work me Lord". drool
