I keep hearing a new verion of "nasty girl" is the commercial club I go to. Its fun. Girls grind u up on that song.


I love dancing. But raves got annoying for me though.

Not in a long time. Usually it's the music's fault.

I miss the trance rave days the music was so good and beautiful.

the best parties were the ones we had in 1995-1996
those were absolutely amazing. the music was at an
all time peak for me personally at that time with
many bands like prodigy, underworld, orb, orbital,
very early moloko, chemical brothers, future sound
of london etc etc.

we used to go to an incredible club where the most
zoned out zombies would mingle with slicked out n
filthy rich yuppies, skaters, stoners, lsd takers,
40 year old housewives in search of themselves and
just your avarage dance till dawn freaks. the whole
place, and I mean the whole damn place would be an
enormous sea of movement from beginning till end
and there was no pushing or shoving or fighting for
space.

those were probably the most mesmerising nights of
my life until now because they were very special to
me. it was a certain point in my life where I had
just met the people who would become my best friends
that are still my friends right now.

I've lost the ability to dance since that time and
can't move for shit these days to be frank. somehow
I've lost all sense of rhythm and became an old
rusty white fart who couldn't dance to safe his life.

but back in those days, aw man, we'd stream into
that club or those warehouses and we could dance
like fucking no tomorrow, the whole crowd in motion
moving as one enormous beast. and no one got tired.

after having danced for 6 hour straight we'd all
take our gear down to a nearby lake where people
would have an afterparty, boozing it up a bit and
doing some last dancing and smoking before we'd
all head home and get some sleep for next week.

man, I miss those nights. sooooo much!

All the time. Especially when I'm out dancing in NYC

First thing I heard when I walked in was my song by Fantasia, FREE YOURSELF. It was a remix done by DAVID HARNESS the resident DJ extraordinaire at the END UP.
Everyone was hootin' and hollerin'. He played some gospel house that sent everyone into orbit. Some of the newbies just looked at us as if we were crazy. You see there are about 10-15 of us regulars that shout at the DJ and sing along. OFF THE RICHTER!!!!! Oh God, now I have to go out again on Tuesday night.

I do have to say that I used to dance a LOT. Back when I used to go to Juice Bars...that led me to be a frequent clubber at Medusa's in Chicago. Fridays...Saturdays...heck even Wednesdays when it was college Night.

Then I hit 21 and Medusas had closed. I ended up going out the the bars and danced there. I was a lil dancing machine.

Then I discovered the bigger clubs and the raves. And that was cool...but the dancing bit had been toned down for me.

Then I came out to SF and that rave scene and the music was SO much better and I got my dancing feet back on me. Those days are over.

I do go out on occasion and there will be dancing, but you'll find me bopping my head with a drink in hand.
