Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! What a freakin' awesome movie. Gorgeous and twisted and touching with no sap factor at all and just brilliant.
Tim Burton! Johnny Depp! Freakin' awesome.

Tim Burton is o.k. I guess, but Sam Firstenberg is a genius.
He seemlessly melds youth culture, philosophy, music, and dance into an emotional roller coaster brimming with drama, suspence, and a solid plot. http://www.amazon.com/exe...d&n=507846 Viva La Firstenberg! GREAT MOVIE!!!
I loved every bit of it. Johnny Depp was perfect as always and it seems that Tim Burton is finally back in his element.

Even the pre-factory scenes were magical. A much better version than the Gene Wilder movie. And Tim Burton does look like he's gotten back into the "zone" It's possibly my favorite movie of the year, and I'm not even a Burton fan.

did anyone see the previews for this:
looks like its gonna be a great movie The new trailer for Tim Burton's Corpse Bride, voiced by Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham-Carter, Emily Watson, Albert Finney and Christopher Lee, has launched at Yahoo! Movies. Opening on September 23, the stop-motion, animated feature follows the story of Victor (Depp), a young man whisked away to the underworld and wed to a mysterious Corpse Bride (Bonham-Carter), while his real bride, Victoria (Watson), waits bereft in the land of the living. Though life in the Land of the Dead proves to be a lot more colorful than his strict Victorian upbringing, Victor learns that there is nothing in this world, or the next, that can keep him away from his one true love. "Corpse Bride" carries on in the dark, romantic tradition of Tim Burton's classic films Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Say it's just a dream...

It's not a remake though, is it? Because it was a book first? I mean, like, where is the sun?

It's not a remake though, is it? Because it was a book first? If you want to get technical, yes; the book was first. Then the first movie. Lots of people don't read though; So they will see the first move as definative. Which it is not, of course. THe movie never lived up to my expectations. Even when I saw it as a kid.

The book was one of my favourites as a child i can't wait to see the film more for the johnny depp quota i have to have filled than anything else though
