Aww cool, i've only heard bits on that last one Michigan. What did you think about that one?

Oh, since you're a fan of Bebel, i highly reccomend that Heleena album.

oh yeah? other than bebel and nouvelle vague, i've been keeping my bossanova intake pretty strictly old skool...i think i need to get some more recent stuff, i'll check it out.

and to be honest, i haven't heard any of this sufjan guy's work at all. pitchfork has been hyping the life out of him lately, and when i heard folks around the org were into him too, i got curious...plus it's a hoot to have an album about the state i live in, especially if it's good. i like his idea for doing an album for every state.

interestingly, when i bought my copy of this album today, they put the wrong sufjan stevens CD in the jewel case they sold me, so when i got home i wound up copying another CD of his, then taking it back to get "illinois"...so if i like him, i've got plenty of his stuff to listen to! biggrin

i'm usually an ol' school type of person when it comes to traditional music, but some the new stuff that's coming out in the genre is undeniable.

it's rare when pitchfork hypes something, so when they do it tends to get me excited, too. Though a couple of times they've mislead me. lol i've had that Michigan album in my amazon wish list since they raved about that one, maybe, i'll go ahead nnd order it. lol
