Calling all Comic Book Guys and Gals!

Now, i've never been much of a comic reader or purchaser. I mean, i think i've got a few copies of the Punisher and 2000AD in a box somewhere, from my youth when i genuinely tried to get "into" comics, and failed. neutral But, in the late 1980s (I believe it was - possibly early 90s), I stumbled across a comic which was sold in "mainstream" newsagents etc., and clicked with me - at the time, i thought it was brilliant.

I can't remember the name, but it was nasty. Each edition was a selection of twisted, subversive short stories. love

But as quickly as it had arrived, it was gone! sad

Now this is a long shot, but i can't remember the name. Anybody have any ideas what it might be? I think the title may have been a single word. Like, "twisted", but it wasn't that. sad

Problem is, there are a whole lot of indie comics that fit that description. Plenty of twisted, subversive comics that are published by small presses.
