:( ...... So there's a girl at work that is probably one of the most incredible women I've ever met in my life. She's smart, she's sweet, she's funny, she's beautiful... Every time I think about her, my heart swells and I can't help but feel [insert extremely hard to describe feeling of happiness/peace/"completeness"]. We email each other all day and she even pops by my desk just to say "hi" to me on a fairly. One time, we were at a club and we were dancing/grinding on the dancefloor and I gave her a little kiss pn the....she said "no" and that was that. Yet, things have remained the same - she and I are still great friends and I still think she's the greatest thing since sliced bread.... We still email/talk all the time and every time I do, all I can think about is how much she means to me. What am I supposed to do? I don't think she likes me like that (that's what I picked up from the "no" commend when I kissed her on the cheek). How am I supposed to control my feelings - it's pretty obvious she just wants me as a friend... It just sucks when you meet an incredible woman who you wish could be more than a friend, yet you know it'll never happen...you don't met too many cats like that.... (mind you, I thank God that she's at least in my life - I'm very fortunate to know her for sure!)

Absolutely not....I used to be in a semi-managerial / support position for her (that's how I know her)...now that I'm a manager in a different area, it's a littel different. But, just from me kissing her on the cheek and her saying "no", it seems obvious that she's not cool with it. We still email/talk all day though... it just sucks because she's just AMAZING on so many levels (not just physical - trust me, 90% of the females in my office of 1300 people are hot).

I'm the last person who should be giving advice about women...
You might want to refrain from kissing her on the cheek for awhile, tho... ...that's my only advice.

In all seriousness, I’ve seen this happen several times. My Air Force Roomate was my roommate for almost 4 ½ years and during that period of time, I saw him go through that patter with about 3 different girls.
He ended up being their male “girlfriend” while completely enamored by them. The type of girl is normally cute, if not model georgous, very picky with her men, yet slightly sluttish in a little bo Peep kind of way. They’re drawn to men who are just wrong for them. Of course I’m not sure what your friend is like, but you should probably think about just dropping it if it’s eating you up inside. If you want companionship, get a dog. Cuz U can’t control the way you feel about her, and it would never be honest. . [Edited 6/11/05 0:52am]

She's beautiful, smart and I think she's just incredible.... it's bitter sweet, really...I'm SO glad she's in my life, but she's so great that I'd like more. sad...

I stopped counting the times I've heard the line "You're one of my best friends, but I'm not attracted to you that way...sorry."

You need to ask her out. Maybe she said no because you guys were drunk.. Or out with co-workers. Or she hadn't shaved. Who knows why if you've never talked to her about it??? If you like her that much, ask her out so you know. Then if she says no, follow AB's wisdom and letitgo! http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista

Steal her away shes probably waiting for you to make the move If life were only like movies...where you declare a deep, true love for another, and that's all they need to know and feel in order to give themselves over to you...suddenly every chance is worth taking, and every insecurity and doubt is no match for the power of connection.

She and I went out to lunch today....it was really hard. We talked about her move, etc (although we didn't talk about the WHY...aka the boyfriend)....she's such an amazing person....it's really sad....of course I wish her nothing but the best, but it's still tough.
