I'd say last week was better on a purely musical level, but as an event..I don't think you can repeat something and get the same level of HUGENESS as a point in history. I actually have the entire Live Aid concert on 4 vhs tapes. I remember I had to work that weekend so I had to get family members to change tapes for me. I was so blown away when FOR THE TEARS IN YOUR EYES video came on. It was beautiful.

I was in the 5th grade living in Belgium. I remember thinking that Madonna looked nasty- like she needed a bath. My parents recorded the concert (I had to go to bed) and I watched the Prince video the next day after school. I was disappointed that it was a video and not a live performance.
Remember Phil Collins played London and then jumped on a plane and played (I think) New York! That was cool. Socks still got butt like a leather seat... | |
