MAY I KISS YOU ON THE LIPS MISS SANDRA? (a loving thread about sandra bernhard) god, do i love this woman. her stand-up material and delivery is in a league of it's own.
granted, she is not for everyone. many people fail to see the irony that is often intergrated into her work, and take it for face meaning, and many people find her way too acidic and bizarre, but i LOVE her.

I understand the love of her comedy, but I don't see how anyone finds her sexy! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

That is one sexy bitch.
She's got "it"...that certain I don't know what that makes a person so magnetic you can't help but be facinated by what they say or do. Not to mention...she's got an amazing singing voice and she's funny and brave as all hell. for Sandra

she just did a series of shows in L.A. in March at the Silent Movie Theatre. I didn't see it, but the review said it was full of Prince references. http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista

I met Sandra once and I gave her a bunch of Prince unreleased songs on a cassette. She probably threw it away.
I got to see her in San Francisco once at a WOMEN OF THE NIGHT HBO SPECIAL. I was there for both shows. I'm in it for a quick second. She does this entire scat singing segment that was hilarious. She can actually scat pretty well.(Do not insert poop joke here) ".....then someone handed me....a tamborine." M MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop! awww, i never thought to make a mix comp thingie for sandra! i gave john waters a mix tape of outsider music once at a book signing and he said he loved getting tapes from fans because it gives him something to do on airplanes, so who knows - maybe he actually listened to it.
my only real close encounter with sandy was at a book signing in chicago when "love love and love" came out. when we got in line, an assistant came out and said we weren't allowed to speak to her about madonna, and when we got up to get our books signed, she was wearing a snappy little chanel business suit, so when she signed my friend david's book, he said "thank you, suitwoman!" and she looked at him like he was insane. ah, memories.

That's exactly how I met her, at a book signing for the same book. She was kind of rude though. Oh well. M MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop!
