Sepia

Some photographs (definitely not all) seem to be beg to be sepia-coloured. I took these first two in Vancouver and the third one in Banff. What do you think?

If you have any sepia-coloured photographs (no matter if you're the photographer or not), please post them here. I'd be very curious to see them.

Thank you! Composition is important, I think, so I'm glad you like them.

And don't think I didn't notice the colour of the pic in your profile. wink

It was pretty powerful. When I was canoeing a bit further up that river I had no idea what it would turn into. They didn't say anything about it at the rental place. confused

What doesn't make you erect that has to do with a man?

Thanks! I'm glad you paid attention to the individual pictures. That's how they're meant to be seen. I understand why people see them as a series though since they're posted next to each other and have the same colours. Sometimes it's even hard to prevent pictures from "stealing from each other" when they're in a gallery. Ultimately, it's up to the observer to direct his/her attention to his/her liking.

Thank you. I obviously intended them to be jack-off material, so I seem to have hit the bullseye with you. touched

Really, thanks, I appreciate it.

They're actually digital pictures that are a part of a little experiment of mine. I'm usually an extreme puritan when it comes to photos and don't want to manipulate them at all. It takes away the authenticity. But this time I allowed myself only the liberties that are available to regular photography, i.e. toning, cropping, sharpening of contrast. Sepia is one of those tools (I believe it is a filter), so I don't feel like I've crossed over into the world of Photoshop and such tools for cheating and making things artificial.

Thanks for the compliment by the way! It feels great since I know how very good you are yourself at photography.

These are gorgeous!!!

The top one reminds me of a black-and-white print I have by Bill Brandt, because of the beautiful fog.

The middle one is simply chilling.

I love them! love

What kind of camera do you use?

Wow, that's some serious praise! Thank you. touched smile

For these I used a Pentax Optio. Definitely not anything fancy, but it gets the work done.

i don't know if i'm really good but thanks(i only took photography1 and i fell in love with it.) but i really like that sepia. i'm taking a class for digital next fall, right now i just do it the old fashioned way. i don't like to alter a photo either but with digital i can imagine the possibilities....

I was thinking stormy sky as well, something you see in a huge Montana Big Sky theme.

Cool. You look fantastic in sepia. Then again, you'd look fantastic in blue, green, red or pretty much any other colour I can think of anyway. wink
