I-pods (again)

Ive owned the Archos brand mp3 player for about two years now, great little machine, 20gig, real nice. However, I wanted more; more hardrive, color screen, more buttons, I wanted more.

The last thing I wanted to do was jump on the I-pod bandwagon. I searched around, looked up the other kids on the playground; Rio, Creative Labs, Dells, all of them. The only one that caught my attention was the one Toshiba was coming out with called the Gigabeat.

Toshiba makes the hardrive for the I-pod and their unit had a touch screen, 60gig off the bat and the neatest way of navigating.

Well, its taking forever for them to bring it stateside.

So, (sigh), I bought the 60gig I-pod Photo.

WOW.

These little phuckers do more than they let on in those goofy silhouette ads.

And the accesories, my lawd! You can choke a horse with the stuff you can by for the I-pod.

But the more I think about the blitzkrieg that I-pod has created, Im starting to believe that when enough people own one, they will become self-aware or Steve Jobs will hit a button making the I-pods of the world transmute into a mini mech warrior type creation and strive for world domination, starting with his old buddy Bill Gates' place in Seattle. lol

The future of mp3 players will be the cellphone.

This will also be the future of portable PDA technology, email, GPS mapping, and the like.

Todays mp3 players are great, but if Apple wants to survive, they've GOT to develop software for cellphones.

Trust me--5 years from now, your phone will be the everything device.

I own this little baby here, it does it all; Outlook synch for contacts and calendar, mp3 playback via realplayer, and some of the coolest shit you can download from the Palm or Sprint website.

I have one of those!
Mine is black!

I had to replace the cheap ass earphones with nice ones, but that player kicks major ass--especially compared to the limited functionality of the ipod shuffle!

Can you plug it into your cars head unit, control it, and watch it on its display? The I-pod can.

falloff

No!

But he cool thing about this device is that I can go to the gym and it's so small I don't even notice it's there.

The ipod is really nice, but I couldn't bring it to the gym without being completely annoyed by it.

I don't know why folks are so 1984-ish when it comes to iPods. They're just convenient ways to store and play your favorite music -- that's all I see it as.

You should get an external hard drive to use for backup files. I need to get one too. I guess I will when I accidently delete some stuff off. tease

some can be kinda expensive depending on how much space you want.
