I lived in Swansea, Wales, for five months. I only took a couple of trips to Cardiff (if my memory serves me correctly, it's only about an hour and a half from Swansea) but while there, you should definitely go shopping! It has some great stores -(although London is infinitely better when it comes to that). There is a pretty cool castle in the middle of town that looks like it's worth a visit. Also, Brains, the Welsh beer, is brewed there...I'm fairly certain they give tours. There is a brand new stadium there, you'll definitely see it at some point because it's so big.

If you ever get the chance, I HIGHLY suggest a visit to North Wales. It is just absolutely gorgeous - the most beautiful place I've ever seen. The scenery is fantastic. I swear, it was so amazing...that imagery will always be with me.

And make sure, like Teacher said, to take in all the signs and the funny language! They lump all sorts of consonants together.

I miss it there.
