well, i would have to see the original article to be sure but most states have provisions that assure that parents can supercede age restricted laws when it comes to their own child.

are we sure they were arrested for allowing their son and not for the son's friends that were in attendance? because, state law depending, it is probably more so the case

Here is the actual article:

Parents hire stripper for son’s 16th

The Associated Press

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A couple pleaded guilty Thursday to hiring a stripper for their son’s 16th birthday party and were sentenced to two years probation.

Landon and Anette Pharris, who were charged with contributing the delinquency of a minor, also were ordered to take parenting classes.

The couple hired the stripper to perform at a September party attended by about a dozen young people.

The stripper, 29, who police say used the stage name “Sassy,” danced for a few hours before partygoers took up a collection and paid her $150 more to fully disrobe, Anette Pharris said.

Police were tipped off by a photo developer at a drug store.

Pharris said she had tried to do something special for her son. “We even had grandpa there,” she said.

"Contributing to the delinquency of a minor"----lol

It's not as if 16 year old boys wack-off 10 times a day.
When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

well, could be either way, but i am betting the charge of contributing was about the friends at the party rather than the child himself.

what about a father throwing a stripper party for his daughter.
THAT is downright creepy.

Why is that more creepy than the story above? shrug

nothing wrong with throwing your 16 yr old a stripper party. You can't keep your kids on a leash forever or shelter them forever. Mines well introduced him to the outside world cause he will d oit anyway so why not the parents helping him in a good way.

I hope Grandpa's teeth didn't pop out and shoot across the room into the strippers bra.

At that age, I would have seriously and honestly given my right pinky finger for strippers.
