I spotted this article in the paper yesterday. Apparently, a couple in Nashville were arrested for hiring a stripper for their son's 16th birthday party. Apparently they wanted to give him a birthday to remember so they hired a young lady named Sassy to stop by. The teen partygoers apparently raised enough money to get to see a whole lotta Sassy. The hijinks were discovered when a film developer at the drug store ratted them out. The parents really didn't think there was anything was wrong with the arrangement and the mother was quoted as saying that fun was had by all and even grandpa was in attendance.

If cooler parents have ever existed, I am not sure who they are.

i have a friend who has a relative who took their 8 year-old son to hooters for his birthday.

Personally, I have never viewed 16 year old boys as victims when it comes to sexual encounters, especially considering how desperately I was trying to get laid at 16.

My issue is that the law is the law. Parents are sending the wrong message to kids when they say "this law matters, and this one is just silly."

well, i would have to see the original article to be sure but most states have provisions that assure that parents can supercede age restricted laws when it comes to their own child.

are we sure they were arrested for allowing their son and not for the son's friends that were in attendance? because, state law depending, it is probably more so the case

Landon and Anette Pharris, who were charged with contributing the delinquency of a minor, also were ordered to take parenting classes.

The couple hired the stripper to perform at a September party attended by about a dozen young people.

The stripper, 29, who police say used the stage name “Sassy,” danced for a few hours before partygoers took up a collection and paid her $150 more to fully disrobe, Anette Pharris said.

Police were tipped off by a photo developer at a drug store.

Pharris said she had tried to do something special for her son. “We even had grandpa there,” she said.
