Lighten up.

All I said was that I think u're cute.

Humouring is not a crime and doesn't hurt one bit.

you don't get it, do you?

No, and I'd sure appreciate it if u were to explain it to me. I had no intention to cause offense. Just offered a compliment is all.

if you were to have guys come up to you on an almost-daily basis and say things along the lines of "hey, yer cute!" to you and then get pissy when you don't acknowledge 'em (when you DON'T have to in the first place), it'd piss you off.

focus people.

Why should we hate each other on this site over little things, when there are so many REAL reasons to hate people like 2the9s.

No, I wouldn't mind, although to be honest I don't think I'm complimented as often as u are, it seems. I guess we just have very different personalities. I appreciate genuine compliments, especially when they come from people I don't expect them to. I don't mind that bit of interaction, and that bit of extra effort to make a momentary connection with someone, no matter how small. I guess you're just too popular for your own liking. Of course you don't HAVE to acknowledge compliments. You don't HAVE to acknowledge anything or anyone. It just usually makes people feel good, that's all. I figure there's no harm in it and it's a positive part of life - interacting with people, having a mutually positive feeling. Rest assured, you've made yourself understood and I'm now well aware that you will not appreciate a compliment from me in future. I'm sorry I wasted both yours and my time. In the end it was just a small compliment, albeit not the first one sent in your direction, but here we are. I don't think I've ever had this conversation before and I doubt I ever will again. I don't think I'll stop complimenting people though. Hmmm...

Here's a little pet-peeve of mine...

Thanks to the PATRIOT Act we are all of a sudden living in a police state in which U.S. citizens can now be swept up and held indefinitely, without a trial, without charges ever being brought against them!

I don't know about you, but I kinda thought the U.S. Constitution/Bill of Rights was a good thing.

U mean u don't have guys come up to u on a daily basis saying 'hey, yer cute'?

that doesn't mean automatically mean that i'm popular--it's just random men who walk past me on the street on any given day who think i'm pretty. totally different.

Obviously not, but then there's always that line. It usefully negates the need for clarity. thumbs up!

Just mark me stupid and move on, safe and comfy in the knowledge that I just didn't 'get' it.

For God's sake I live in South Carolina. Can it really get any worse than that? lol

Law: Bitches in heat shall be confined.

Country: United States

City: Clemson

Citation: Sec. 4-27. Confinement of bitches in heat and stray dogs.

The drinking age on Furman University campus is 60 years old.

Horses are to wear pants at all times.

The Fire Department may blow up your house. This law was made so that the fire department could create a fire brake. omg daaamn

No work may be done on Sunday. Is this really dumb though?

No person of Chinese descent may immigrate to the USA. (Repealed)

October 15 is designated as White Cane Safety Day. Must be some kinda of KKK thing shrug

Persons may be placed in jail for up to five years for shooting a hole in a penny.

To be a dominatrix is illegal.

A US citizen can take possession of any foreign, uninhabited island, as long as it contains bird droppings.

Yeah, I would be pretty happy if random people stopped me and told me I was pretty. DOES NOT HAPPEN. lol

I've thought that I should compliment random people more. I do sometimes, but it's usually about clothing or whatnot. . . when I'm thinking somebody is super yummy, I'm usually too shy to tell them that. Dunno, maybe it would just annoy them, or make then think I was coming on to them when I was just trying to be nice.

Washington state recognizes a crime called "Slander of woman":

Every person who, in the presence or hearing of any person other than the female slandered, whether she be present or not, shall maliciously speak of or concerning any female of the age of twelve years or upwards, not a common prostitute, any false or defamatory words or language which shall injure or impair the reputation of any such female for virtue or chastity or which shall expose her to hatred, contempt or ridicule, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. Every slander herein mentioned shall be deemed to be malicious unless justified, and shall be justified when the language charged as slanderous, false or defamatory is true and fair, and was spoken with good motives and for justifiable ends.

(Cite: RCW 9.58.110.)

This law has been repealed, effective July 24, 2005, by Senate Bill 5148. So it's still in effect (although not enforced) for two more weeks.
Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position.

In a nearbye surburb not far from where I live, there is a law on the books which states that people can not eat fast food in their cars. If a patrol person cop catches you eating burger in your car while park you can get a ticket eek .

In my home country (Sweden) it isn't usually the laws themselves that are dumb, but the way people live by them. Every other citizen sees him/herself as a bloody law enforcer and will meddle with other people's lives and tell them off if they so just jaywalk, drop a candy wrapper on the sidewalk or make a wrong turn in traffic. It's really, really annoying. They should mind their own damn business.
