I love this state, I really do. But while I'm slamming SC, here are some other not so exciting rankings about the state:

1.Number 1 in ownership of mobile homes per capita (not there is anything wrong with that, my wife grew up in a mobile home)

2.Bottom 10 in Bachelor's and Master's Degrees

3.7th lowest per capita and disposable income

4.12th higest level of poverty

5.5th highest level of poverty for elderly

6.5th highest unemployment rate

7.Number 1 in violent crime rate

8.Number 4 in overall crime rate

9.Number 7 in teenage mothers

On the bright side:

1. Really slamming sweet tea

2. A LOT of nice people

3. Number 1 International Business Program in the country (USC)

4. Great beaches

5. Coach Steve Spurrier

It's a toss-up, y'all.

GottaLetitgo, where in SC are you? I'm living in Rock Hill, and aside from the fact that there's a lot of rednecks, I don't see much actual evidence of Hate Groups. Are you just basing your facts on what the papers & statistics say, or do you see actual evidence of Haters in your area. Just wondering?
If I want your opinion, I'll beat it outta ya!

I'm in Columbia. Rock Hill isn't really South Carolina though. You're literally on the NC border, you Tarheel wannabe. biggrin

I personally have never seen any hate groups around and the KKK dudes in this area must be keeping their crispy white (but inevitibly pee-stained) sheets in the closet. I am in an interracial marriage and we don't ever hear anything from anybody. My wife has been called some jackass racist names but she says it has been a long time since she has heard any.

The Hate Group stat was in the paper...actually I think it was in Free Times which is a free periodical that has political stuff as well as social stuff like concert announcements.

I'm glad I haven't seen any haters around because if I did I would likely have a broken foot after kicking them in the ass.

The cows here are pretty cool. When I am not tipping their asses over, that it.

Actually I have never tipped a cow in my life. Wouldn't know how to. I'm too weak anyway. Maybe I could work my way up by bunny tipping.

At one point SC was #1 in domestic violence and women killed by men sad It's good that they've just passed that Criminal Domestic Violence bill. woot! Hopefully, it'll cut down on crime.
