Ipods

Does anyone have an ipod here? I just got one of the new metalic ipod minis[6gigs] and I love it! Currently listening to the beautiful ones.

The one on the left is the one I have. It's a lot better looking than the old blue.

wave I love it. It's only a 20 GB though. I don't have any accessories for it though, it's still plain boring white. I really need to get an iSkin and one of those colored screen protectors, because mine already has a few scatches on it. I'm not even rough with it, it just scratches easily.

Mine is the first 20GB model that came out and it's apparently so obsolete that it's not compatible with the new iPod accessories that are coming out. mad I would have loved to get that gadget that sends the music as a radio signal but I guess that will stay in my dreams...

To be honest, I haven't even figured out how you add songs to the iPod without "synchronising the libraries" (on the computer and the pod respectively). confused

I still love it though. thumbs up!

Is it erasing what's already in your iPod and just adding what's in your library?

Yeah, either that or it just checks what is in my library and adds the songs that are missing on the iPod, I'm not sure. The point is that I have to save all the songs on my hard drive for the "synchronizing" to take place. I'd rather just keep my hard drive empty and simply add songs to the pod when I feel like it.

I know what you mean. I deleted songs off the library that I ALREADY had on the ipod thinking it would still be on the ipod despite it being deleted off the library but when it updated my songs, all my 200 something songs were gone!

The iTrip accessory that you're talking about is great! My sis has it.
Just pick a radio station, plug it in ur ipod and u can hear all your songs in your car. I wish I had a car sad lol

Set the iPod setting to manual instead of synchronize. It should work after that. I had the same problem when I first got my ipod too. I don't know why iPod aren't automatically set on manual.

I'm sure you'll get a car eventually. Don't look forward to it too much though. I had to spend $1500 on repairs for mine a little while ago. confused

You mean there's a setting like that on the actual iPod? I've never noticed that. I haven't noticed it in the software either (mine came with MusicMatch). But I'll check it out. Thanks!

not on the actual ipod, it should be on the setting menu on the software after you plug your Ipod in.

Yep, and I originally bought the car for $2000. lol

I could have scrapped it unless I noticed that that make, model and year was selling for over $3000, so now I have an ad in the paper hoping to make some money back and even earn some.

I bought mine at the beginning of this year. Third generation 20 gig. It's really scratched! And the filenames of all my songs are fucked so they're not arranged well. I need to redo that this summer. My only gripe is that I can't use BOTH my iBook and my PC to upload songs - I have to choose one or the other.

Then I understand why you thought it was a tad bit expensive....and probably that I was more than a tad bit stupid. smile

Sometimes my games don't work, "error" just pops up....especially with Music Quiz. It's no big deal, since I never play it. I think it's kinda pointless to play music quiz with your own ipod since you know what's all on there. As a matter of fact all games on there are boring.

I wouldn't recommend that. Not that it sucks but what if there's this one song you REALLY wanna listen to on the ipod shuffle? You gotta skip through hundreds of songs to get it.

I really don't see the point in getting that. It would drive me crazy. Besides it's a way too high price for a "fun gimmick" which really is all it is.

The Ipod website says this:

DJ Your Day
Use Autofill to sync a specific iTunes Playlist, or just drag and drop individual songs or albums from iTunes onto iPod shuffle. With Play in Order mode, you manage the music. Or flip the Shuffle toggle on the back and create a mix on the go...

So I'm not sure if it's THAT hard to find what you wanna hear hmmm

Wait a few years and you'll probably be able to pick your tooth with the latest iPod. Have you seen Zoolander by the way? I love Ben Stiller's cell phone in that. lol

I bought 1 of these 2, it's great! I love being able 2 listen 2 whatever I want without having 2 lug around a stack of CDs. I have 2 figure out that manual thing though 'cause like Retina said I don't wanna keep all of those songs on my hard drive (1,400 so far). But I was thinking about getting a laptop with an extra external hard drive or something so I can rearrange the playlists anytime I want. Besides, I could use the laptop.

Not dumb at all.

The only accessory I know of that would sort of "plug in" is the iTrip one mentioned above in this thread. Unless you mean "plug in for power" in which case I don't have a clue either. smile
