Just to let you all know, Squirrelmeat got caught up in some of the problems today.

We both share the rent on a London pad (we are both country boys) and although I was in London this morning, Squirrel was coming in from Hertfordshire on the effected Kings Cross train.

He's fine, but with cuts and briuses. I spoke to him on the phone from the hospital earlier. His first comment was "Bollocks". So I know he was fine. biggrin

omfg

oh damn...
glad hes ok

Personally, I beleive this is a wake up call 2 Britain!!!! nod nod

The UK can no longer adopt an "open house" mentality and let every immigrant, legal and illegal, in left, right and center!!! nod nod This country has been too complacent for years and years and now its time 2 toughen up!!!!

Personally, for a few years now I had a deep gut feeling something like this was gonna happen!! And, as various reports have said, it wasnt a case of IF its gonna happen, its WHEN!!!!! And yesterday was the WHEN time!!!!

There was even an incident down here in Poole, which is right next door 2 Bournemouth(in fact Bournemouth and Poole virtually merge 2gether 2 form one big city). There was a suspicious package, either at the ferry port or the train station!! The thing is many, immigrants, legal and illegal, enter the UK, through Poole!!

By the way, I am glad that many UK .orgers are fine and well and not badly affected by this horrendous event!!! biggrin biggrin

Disgraceful post, absolutely disgraceful. Tarring 99.9999% of people with the same brush as bombers is, frankly, outragoeus.

And who's to say they weren't born in the UK?

This horrible tragic event is going to trigger off kneejerk anti immigration feeling again, with no real justification or cause

Co-sign.

There is no such thing as a "foreign" person, since we are all local to where we live and foreign to everywhere else...

There are, however, "good" and "bad" people. This is the only distinction any of us should concern ourselves with.

I dont mean people from safe countries!! I was referring 2 immigrants from all the "suspect" nations where all these terrorist cells operate!!

And just because these people are born and bred here in the UK, it doesnt mean they cant adopt the philosophies of Bin Laden, etc, here in the UK!!

And granted, yes there are good people as well as the bad, I am not saying that everyone is a terrorist!!nod nod

What the hell is a "safe" country?!

Spain and France? What about ETA, from the Basque area (which encompasses parts of both countries)?

Ireland? (Dur...IRA? UVF?)

USA? (Funding the IRA for decades - Who also bombed London in a similarly cowardly way)

Fuck me, even WALES has it's own separatist group!

NOWHERE is safe whilst bad people exist. Bad people will always exist to some extent or other. The only ways to protect against them is vigilance in your every day life and education: make sure that the children we bring into the world learn the correct values of good, truth and justice.

Locking your doors and hoping the baddies will stay on the outside would be OK if it weren't for one thing: IT DON'T WORK

Yes, eye am lucky 2 b able 2 go 'freely' wherever eye choose, but the events of yesterday make the danger of racially motivated attacks all the more closer 2 home. Thankfully, 4 the most part, London is a very cool city.
