I've decided to have a major in the School of Business.

Have you guys taken these classes? Any suggesstions?


Accountancy, Computer Information Systems, Economics, Finance & Investments, Industrial/Organizational Physcology, Human Resource Management, Operations Management, Entrepreneurship Management, Marketing Management, Quantitative Methods and Modeling


My other option is to study in the School of Real Estate and Metropolitan Devolpment. Any information on that?

My little sister is an econ major. She dropped the business concentration for a german studies double major. But that's all I can help you with.

i've taken accounting before. i thought i'd hate it but i thought it was fun. it really helps you see where your money is going. i also took intro to maketing management. i don't major in it but ill have a minor in business entrepreneurship. i think finance and investments and entrepreneruship management will be really helpful also. and human resources management.

Arbi, my suggestion is that you postpone college for a few years to find yourself.


Travel the world. Fall in and out of love. Almost commit some misdemeanors.


Then, when YOU know exactly what you want to do with your life, return to school and you won't have to ask anybody what to major in. You'll know.

It also depends where Arbi is from - the American college system generally allows the first year to dick around and take classes in all different disciplines to discover what you truly love and/or are good in. I have found that the UK university system does not offer that - you are expected to know what you want to major in before even doing your A Levels!



Of course, there is not "right" or "wrong" way about this - it's all about what Arbi feels comfortable with. It also seems that Arbi has pretty much decided on their course - they are just asking for experiences, etc on classes in that major.

I went to college right out of high school. I was an honors student and got a full scholarship...and going to college immediately just seemed like the right, honorable, and expected thing to do. It was automatic.

But discovering my philsophies about Life became more important than study. I was the kind of kid who could have benefited from the cliched "backpacking through Europe."

The college environment was incredible and I learned so much from the exposure, the ideas, the experience and the people.

But I graduated with a degree I later had no interest in using.
I had about three professions before settling on what I want to do for life.


If I could do it over again. I would have just worked for survival money after high school and just LIVED. Then I would have discovered what my reason for living is and went to college with more direction.


You're right. Arbi must decide... but asking for a "suggestion on majors" just raises a red flag to me and suggests the person needs to center themselves first.

Well, I am an Educator. However, I have taken some classes related to your course work in the areas of CIS and Quntitative Methods(Statistics). While in college, I was on the Dean's List. Futhermore, I was involved with student govenment, managed to jam with my band, party and occasionally club hop. All I can say is that it is a matter of how you effectively manage your time in college, and always take time out to have fun or else your time in college will become dull.
