deja vu--does anybody else have these moments/

deja vu i have had these feelings (not for a while though) where i am sure i have experienced a moment in time before or i have had a previous dream of this moment happening.it is quite unnerving when you have them and it makes me wonder what is happening. is it a trick of the mind or have i had a brief look into the future previously and remembered it?....strange.....anybody else experienced this or am i going insane biggrin

It's a trick of the mind. I've heard it being described as the chemicals (or whatever) in your brain are "writing" the moment into your long term memory center instead of your short term memory center and because its going to the wrong spot it feels like you're recalling it from long ago when it's actually just happening now. Or something like that. Makes sense to me. shrug

And yes, it happens to me all the time.

... yes I do have experiences of deja vu but I have no idea what causes it. I've heard it said that it can be due to the brain short-circuiting for a split second and processing the data you're seeing out-of-sync in effect, so that you're actually experiencing again what's just happened.

That never quite made sense to me as some deja vu experiences seem to relate to things that happened months ago. confuse

Yes , i have experienced it quite often
My biology teacher in school told me it's just a really short
temporary blackout (lasting a second only or something)
and therefore you feel like you've experienced something before
I didn't believe him , still don't disbelief

that kinda makes sense to me. although the parallel universe thing is far more interesting than some chemicals going haywire...

YES! I was gonna start a deja vu thread yesterdayz. I'm havin a deja vu as we speak lol

Funny- yesterday while da painter was smoothing out a crack on da loungeroom wall, i told him i was havin a major deja vu! lol When me and my parentz first moved in2 this house over 20 yearz ago, and were first gettin da house painted, I remember as the painterz were all around me, being amongst a jungle of furniture pushed toward da middle of da lounge. I remember just sittin on da couch in da middle of it all watching television lol with da smell of paint permeating da airz lol It was quite eerie, seein dat da house is intended 2 be put back on da market after all these yearz omg

I just remember when all da tradeworkerz were around- there was one particular old man who did alot of handy jobz. I was only four at da time, and i just took a liking 2 him...used 2 follow him around wif my empty bottle of babyoil and my Jet Set magazine...my conversation starter was alwayz 'My aunty June works for Jet Set!' lol Then i'd just stand and talk 2 him for hourz and hourz about lawd knowz what- but he didnt seem 2 mind, he was a sweet old man giggle Kinda grandpa-ish nod
No hablo espanol,no! no no no!
