Coffee Suggetions... Ok, I hate to admit this (and I'm sure Muse will be delighted to hear it), but I'm kinda getting hooked on coffee now... Mind you, I had perhaps 10 cups of coffee my entire life before Sweeny came out here last year and brought a coffee maker with her..lol..and my dad staying here caused me to actually use the thing every morning. We'd have a cup of coffee together everyday...which turned into two cups for me... ...Now, I find myself actually looking forward to a cup of coffee, even during the day. This is madness, I tell ya...madness.
But...I'm such a coffee novice that I don't have a clue as to what brand to buy, what creamer to use...or is milk better? (I can't stand straight black coffee...not yet anyway, give me time)...are there "things" I can add to the coffee grounds and make it taste more unique?? What about freshly ground coffee beans? When I go to the store, I just stare blankly at all the coffee brands on the shelf...do the color coded rankings on the side of the can really mean anything, or are they just there to make coffee morons like myself feel as if they're buying the smooth "roasted blend" over the darker "oven roasted"?? So...list some coffee suggestions (other than "Go to Starbucks") for me to consider and try...I need assistance. (*Wonders who will be the first to post "Go to Starbucks" thinking that will be funny... )

Oh man...flavored coffees like raspberry blends or the like are great. Ghiardelli (sp?) makes a lot of really good flavored blends.
As ever said, Kona is supposedly the best I do not drink black coffee myself (I know...big sissy) but coffe is too dam bitter without some sugar at least.... Enjoy...

Ex-Moderator | I don't drink coffee like I used to (so I've no idea a good brand anymore), but in general good advice is to grind your own beans. Freshly ground has a much richer flavor. Coffee grinders are quite inexpensive as well...
I also prefer milk to creamers. Just more natural that way. But there are a bunch of flavored creamer things that are super yummy. Another way to add flavor is to get flavor syrups. I'm trying to remember a good brand, as they can be a bit too syrup-y sweet if you get a bad brand... but in general they are yummy. Adding sweetened condensed milk to a pretty heavy coffee is a real treat. YUM!! I also used to use honey more often than sugar when sweetening. A bit different of a flavor. |

If I get freshly ground coffee (or grind it myself), and I'm using a standard ol' coffee maker...do I need to pay attention to how finely it's ground?..

I am a simple girl...
I drink chock full of nuts... light with non-dairy creamer and sweet and low... If i go out, its always DUNKIN DONUTS super light with cream or half and half and sweet and low.. I am easy to please! I heard Kona coffee is awesome... but expensive! I can't find it here.. or maybe i am just not looking in the right place!
