On the first "July 4th" there were countless number of Americans without independence, so this day means what exactly? Happy economic independence from UK day!!!!

And just how is it I am a loser when it is NOT my Independence Day? You live in an area that is laden with Native American references and titles, have you asked any of THEM do they celebrate INDEPENDENCE DAY, OR EVEN CALL THEM LOSERS??

Hmmmmm....just something for you to think about.

ok. here's something for you to think about.

under current american law persons of male gender have MORE protection from discrimination than persons of female gender. that's right. check out my thread in the P&R forum for the exact wording of the ERA and what needs to be changed to protect females in this regard

what it boils down to is that i, a white female, work for less wages and have less work opportunities than you have, as a black male, because i was born female.

and yet i don't desert my country and say 'fuck the flag and all it stands for'

think on that for a while, 'k

Making 60 cents less per dollar is a mere drop in the bucket compared to ever being treated as a second and third class citizen which is seemingly the birthright for every black person in this country! And...you have not been stripped of your RELIGION, CULTURE, GOD, IDENTITY, HISTORICAL REFERENCE, LANGUAGE, amidst massive genocidal conditions.

Now I am not for the inequality of ANYONE and I will stand firm in not ever going to represent this country for all I have listed above. A few pennies less earned ranks far less than what black people have gone through.

Females do have it pretty fucked up in this Male Driven society....so I do hear you sista....Whap!

what do you call the thousands of women who die of domestic abuse? the laws around the planet that allow for the stoning to death and burning to death of women?

i understand racial and gender discrimination are not the same but believe me i do know about discimination. this issue goes far beyond 'a few pennies less' for those of the female gender.

but, thanks for the supportive words anyway

btw i'm sorry i called you a loser dex. i spent some time reading my uncle's war time correspondence (he was a cryptographer) and the things he endured while in the service were pretty rough. he didn't have to enlist and he was pretty idealistic when he did. i wonder if i'd have the asme courage if it came down to it?

i do think people who live in america owe their country a debt of support for the good things that are available here, but i understand that you feel completely disenfranchised from this country. i apologize for my hasty words.
