I spent my rainy day money...

Well, I have been wanting to buy a flat screen TV for some time now. I bought one yesterday. I have spent months looking at them. I am kind of having buyers remorse now. I feel very selfish. I have been saving money for five years to do this. All people can say is "It must be nice"

That makes me feel bad. As. a result I gave my old TV to a family who needed it. They really were suprised by that guesture. It brought them to tears. After I gave it to them one other friend told me that I was wrong to give my old TV away.

was the gift appropriate?

I think there is the tendecy to feel guilty after buying something expensive. I certainly feel that way. If you've been saving for a while for the new TV then you should enjoy it and look at it as the fruit of your hard saving.

I think you had no need to feel guilty about buying something with money you'd earned.

Giving your old TV away to a family who really appreciated it was a lovely gesture. I don't agree with what your friend's saying. What else would you have done with it? You gave them a TV and in return you got to feel good about yourself and appreciate what a great person you are. I think it was a good trade. Well done you! thumbs up!

Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, it means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections... unknown
