No CONTROL.. Dont you just hate it when you have no control over certain things?
Ok, it makes the challenge and makes it more exciting, but me without control makes me soo mad.. For instance, yesterday, I went down to breakfast. I had a meetin g with my work ppl. They told me to go upstairs, pack and check out the hotel, cos I gotta take a flight to another province in China, to check out a new factory. So, I just gotta do it. But I had plans.. I had been staying at the same place for a week, and I had certain things I wanted to do in my last 2 days there.. What things do you have no control over, and how does it make you feel?

I suppose, if you boil it down, nobody ever truly has real control over anything in life. But, not having control over the basics of your life can really affect a person.
In my case, it's my health that I have no control over. I have had major health issues for goign on 10 years now and some days it takes all I have to not go crazy or fall into a really bad depression. Not having control over your own body, or not being able to count on my own body to let me do what I'd like or want, often makes me feel very helpless and frustrated. I guess all a person can do in ANY kind of situation where they lack control is to find the areas where they *DO* have control, and concentrate on that. Sometimes, when I'm feelign up to it, to feel more in control of my life I clean! Sounds simple (and weird) but it helps for some strange reason.

Oh I like it, but I wanted to buy some presents for some friends, and I knew the area and where to get these certain things.. now I am somewhere I do not know and the hotel has like a mile long driveway up to it, so shops are not close by.. I have been ill the past few days, got better and now it seems its coming back.. I have been on my own in China for the past week, and will be through out the trip. I was pissed off last night cos nobody told anyone I was flying to Guangzhou, so the office here were not prepared, so I arrived here, nobody to pick me up, didnt know which hotel I was staying in.. my mobile battery dying on me, I had to phone Helen at the office and tell her I am here, she panicked, I panicked, but in the end its ok.. Mind you, I did not like getting into a big white van with 4 guys.. I am SURE it was NOT a taxi, and I was really scared..

Thats why I throw myself into my work.. I do what I do best and get results from that.. it doesnt however help with the no control in life, but its not all balanced for ANYBODY anyway..

It helps so much to look at at least one area of your life and feel satisfaction that you did your best, you accomplished something, and that you are (basically) in charge of that part of your life. And nope, nobody's life is truly totally balanced. We all just have to muddle along as best we can. ps - I hope the rest of your trip goes easier for you! ![]()

I am not ill cos of that right now, lets just say, contaminated food, in China = really sore tummy pains = But when I am home, I love to put the music on loud and clean too.

Seems a little short-sighted on the company's part. Not getting on with some of the food?

I dislike that I can't control people. I've learned that over the years. And I hate it. "I wrote down a dream, folded the note, slipped it in the pocket of my tattered coat, I wrote down a dream, in invisible ink, it never was mine I'm beginning to think..."
