The first one breathlessly turned to me from nowhere and asked. He was a cheater. I broke up with him soon after that. Trust me, he deserved nothing more.
The second one, well, she asked me our last night at a hotel stay on New Year's while in bed together. I felt bad about telling her no. How do you say that to someone you care about? I did it as gracefully and sweet as I could. Probably said something about us not being together long enough. I hadn't come to terms yet that the love of my life was to be male, not female. I know now, however.

But one time was by a psycho with severe assholic tendencies so I don't normally count that one, but instead pretend the proposal was only a bad dream I had one night after having eaten too much greasy pizza.
