Wow. Ummm… I don’t know what my shoes represent. For work I wear an old comfortable pair much of the time, and my shoes are more conservative for work. But in “real life” I go for fun and funky shoes. Lots of color, fun heels, and generally not as comfortable, but I love the way they look. I feel good in a good pair of shoes.

As for shoes outside of myself? I LOVE to buy new shoes. They make me happy. Even if I’m not buying them I can walk through rows and rows of shoes in a store and simply admire them. In fact, I often do.

If you're ever in San Jose, we have a shoe date at Steve Madden.

yay!

It's a date!!

what aspects ( all/any no matter how large or small ) do your shoes represent of your personality ?

and/ or what do your shoes mean to you outside of yourself ?

Whaddya think? Have you ever had a dream clarify something for you in your own life?

nod I always analyse my dreams.

I believe I have three types of dreams. The first are normal dreams, where I'm processing the day's events. The second type are communications dreams and the third type are premonitions. They are each very different and I can tell immediately when I wake up which type I've had.

I analyse my dreams in pretty much the same way Mach does. If I dream of a particular person, it's not necessary that person that my dream is about - they could represent a situation, dilemma or part of my own psyche that I need to look at. I will ask myself what characteristics the people or events had that relate to my current circumstances and how defining moments in the dream made me feel. By focusing in on the part of the dream that seemed most important and asking myself "how did that make me feel?" I can usually pinpoint what the dream was about.

So for about 3 years now I've had recurring dreams of losing my shoes, not my whole collection, but the shoes I'm wearing at the time. The circumstances of the dream are always different, but the central activity thereafter - looking for my shoes - is what keeps happening. Though I don't totally believe in the whole, your dreams tell you something about your life thing, I've often wondered how it would be interpreted. You know, just for fun. When it started the dreams were fairly regular but they've dwindled down over the last year. Until last night. And something crazy happened!
In my dream I was in Chicago with a bunch of girlfriends. We were taking busses to get from one place to another and just as we were arguing about whether to stay out a bit longer or go back and retire to our hotel, I discovered I was barefoot. I'd left my shoes on the last bus we were on. But instead of spending hours trying to locate the bus (as I'd have done in past dreams) I just said screw it, jumped off the bus at the next stop and went into a shoe store to buy a new pair. And they were freaking fabulous shoes!!! (I could spend hours describing them, but that'd bore you. Its always boring to hear about other people's dreams, isn't it?)
So anyway, now I'm thinking maybe I should take this as some kind of omen.
Granted, circumstances totally pushed me into buying the new shoes (I couldn't very well wander around Chicago barefoot, whereas in past dreams I was always at someone's house, someone's party, whatever...) but I still quickly got over my despair at losing the shoes and moved right on into a new and even better pair.
hmmm

ok ... so you feel good in good shoes and they make you happy

so dreams of loosing your shoes in the past ...

to me i would look at it as loosing parts of myself that make me feel good and make me happy

and then you go looking for those aspect that were lost to you ( wether lost or

lossed or tossed out by you to please another or whatever reason you would detach from parts that please you )

so this new dream ... you say fuck finding the lost shoes ( old parts of yourself that made you feel good ) and you go out and buy ( find ) new shoes/ aspects

sounds to me ...if it were my dream ... that you are no longer holding onto old patterns ( maybe unhealthy ones ) of loosing yourself and "needing" to find those parts

but celebrating those losses and finding NEW and exciting aspects of yourself ( shoes)

killer dream work in my book hun ... seemed to really be a switch in lifelong habbits that may no longer serve you

peace

I can definitely apply that to at least 2 practical things in my life that have been slowly changing, and even more dramatically so in the last few months. That makes sense.
