Son kills mother after TV-watching fight



Bhubaneshwar: A 25-year-old killed his mother for objecting to his addiction to television in Tiranpada village near Bhubaneswar.

Alok Bhoi (25), who got married last year, was watching television in his neighbour’s house till well past midnight on Friday.

His wife was away for a holiday at her parents’ home.

When he came back home that night, his mother Musi Bhoi (50) reprimanded him for watching too much TV.

The arguments became hot and she screamed at him. In a fit of rage Alok got hold of a log of wood and pushing his mother down pressed it on her neck with all his force — till she died of suffocation.

Then, a scared Alok ran away to a friend’s house and hid there.

However, the police found him there and arrested him yesterday.

The woman had two daughters who along with her sons-in-law cremated her body.

I knew a kid who smashed in his tv as his mum asked him to clean his room. He said he was watching ninja turtles.

Frankly I dont blame him. Turtles rock!
