Tell Me Why U Fight!

African Americans are still two steps behind as far as job oppurtunities, gentrification in their communities, not to mention racism and the lack of real LIFE oppurtunities.

Women are still not on par with this "Male" driven society. Not earning their worth and continually being exploited on many levels.

Latinos are now the "major minority" and still can't seem to understand that America doesn't give a damn about your existence here....STILL!

America is will always stand for Money Greed and Power...nothing else matters!

So why do you fight your socially conscious battles? Do you feel progress is being made?

WHY DO YOU FIGHT? GIVE ME YOUR SOCIAL COMMENTARY!

Trust me...I KNOW THIS.

But where do you see what is on the wall and come to understand that you just will never be on the same level with the POWERS THAT BE?

good question. let me think about it. my knee-jerk reaction to that would be that being at the same level with the Powers That Be is not even the goal. and it's not about me, anyway. it's about fighting for what's right for everybody. in all of these issues you brought up, while they do impact us individually, the much more important aspect is trying to bring about change for all who are disenfranchised.

You need to expand on this...what oppurtunities have you been afforded that you think we ALL should have or become exposed to?

why should one wish to be where the powers that be are? most people look down upon those in a higher spot anyway, because of some of the other people who've screwed it up.

I fight to keep everyone's eyes and minds open. I work at a VERY large hospital, where our new CEO has banned....check that...OUTLAWED smoking. Now I am not a smoker and friggin hate the habit...but let me say this...it is still legal to do it.

This guy has even gone as far as to say that any employee caught smoking on campus here will be terminated...I can't let that go...I am an antogonist with crap like this...censorship, freedom of speech....and similar lightning rod topics. I think that even though the habit is a yucky one...it is still everyone's RIGHT to do so. I think I need to take up smoking and be the first guy here to get fired for it (tease ) naw....I can't stand it, but I hate that this jerkoff feels he can control our lives outside of work as well as inside of it... disbelief

But the oppression still exists no matter how disassociated we choose to be. What impact does a person make who chooses not to accept the serious reality that there ARE powers that be?

No. Empires fill robots with false doctranes of desire, built always on these illusional plateus of money, greed and power - well, power, the other two are by-products - and the dancing monkey majority always cheerleader the rising darkness on, every time round, it's happened before, will happen again, all blind, fed delusions of 'happy' hypnotised, hoodwinked worker bees for an invisible Queen, this time around buying celebrity magazines, buying handbag's with a stranger's names, everyone turning the big wheel around one more time without even realising. Then the day comes, racking up so much emotional, physical and finanical debt and hearttache that you can't close your eyes at night without being assaulted by your own mind. And, once again, another time round, this time under the rule of America, the New World, the day will come, where most won't know who they love and who loves them, without pure emotions to power their their new pulseless existence, because the old new Holy Roman Empire will have fallen, the curtain will have been pulled, and only the lovers and the meek will have anything left to live for.

sorry, poorly worded answer on my part. let me try again...

trying to achieve the same as another person in terms of financial wealth or social status is moot. there will always be somebody richer than you, more "powerful" than you (which is all an illusion anyway).

fighting for change should never be about ourselves, it should be on behalf of others. that's why i continue to do what i do - because i've come to realize that it's not about me - nothing is. once you get that, you can't help but keep going.

why worry about the powers that be in the first damned place? it all begins with yourself, imo.

How is smoking "on campus" outside of work? He "is" surely exercising unnecessary power in my opinion, but it is also a HOSPITAL and I think what is driving him is the images conveyed "on campus". I am not a smoker, but I do agree with not allowing smokers inside of buildings because of well documented "second-hand" smoke issues, but smoking outside should not be a problem.

Not much to add here. I'm not going to pretend I'm fighting for something. I don't complain much. Things are the way they are and progress will be slow no matter what I do. You can change laws and such, but you can't change the mentality of an entire nation overnight....IMO.

I agree that we are living in a world that is totally conjured up on many levels and the "SHEEP" that follow are just as weak as people who chose to drink the Kool-Aid way back when, but how do we change it? Tell me.
