In-laws How well do you get on with your mother and father in-law, or indeed the parents of your boyfriend or girlfriend?
It's always seen as a big thing when u meet the parents. I didn't know what to expect in my situation. When I first met my future mother in-law she sat down next to me, started crying and put her hand on my leg. She just kept crying and it was quite strange, but I just took to be tears of happiness. So are yours as bad as the reputation always has it, or do you have a good relationship with your partner's folks? My Thai mum and dad: They're wonderful, caring people, and I couldn't possibly have a better 2nd set of parents. Hopefully, for the sake of this thread, you have some real horror stories.

the last person i was seeing seriously when i met his mother she moved me she was a wonderful person and simply welcomed me to the family.... my husbands family never liked me, i never liked them so she once told me i would never live up to his ex girlfriend and that she had wished that he had settled down with her... and when our daughter was born she told me she dispised the name i choose familys

My in-laws have a lot to answer for, in terms of spme of the things they put my wife through as she was young. And I am not just talking about the usual falling-out-with-your-folks stuff that most of us go thru as teens, I mean right from the very start. But that is private to my wife so I won't go into any more details, for her sake.
I don't have a lot of repesct for them and how they have lived their lives, but I am lucky in that they like me a lot and I tend to get the good sides of their characters whereas others are less fortunate... By far my biggest worry at the moment is the fact that they came to one of my gigs and our singer, in front of everyone, told my M-i-L that I have a "thing" for her and that I want "to DO her". Which I can assure you, I wouldn't. Not even with yours. Problem is, she has been very touchy-feely since then and now I am convinced she took it as fact rather than a wind-up. Oh sweet Jesus won't someone SAVE ME!!!!! Is there a site for Mothers I WOULDN'T Like To F*ck?!
